This is a great show despite it being a dinner show..we have the best possible sound as it has been mixed by Vic Anesini..It starts off with a lengthy drum intro & then its into a great version of Thats allright mama with another great guitar solo by James Burton, we have all the usual jokes about being a dinner show & he mentions a red snake during Hound dog as he wore the Red ladder jumpsuit, we get i got a woman, Heartbreak hotel, blue suede shoes, all shook up etc all good versions & we get a great version on One night for the oldies..We also get the last live version of Dont cry daddy in a medley with In the ghetto, a lovely version of I just cant help believin thats as good as the single version except it is a little shorter as he doesnt do the refrain..we get the only ever live version of Stranger in the Crowd with some great guitar playing from Mr Burton whos guitar shines throughout this show & sounds great here!!...We also get the only filmed version of The Wonder of You whilst not as strong as the On Stage version is still wonderful..and the highlight for me is a very tender version of Bridge over troubled water and Elvis's voice even though it is a little tired ( He gave one of his very best shows the night before) it adds to the soulfulness of this tune & is my favourite version, we then get suspicious minds & its a good version and he ends with another nice version of Cant help falling in Love..this was the last show filmed by MGM for Elvis thats the way it is and it is well documented that he didnt like Dinner shows but there is no evidence of that on here apart from sounding a little tired but with his schedule then thats hardly surprising!!..This CD is well worth having & its the show i now listen to most from the very high standard of 1970 shows..Tcb...Tony Baker.

Ive been a fan since i was 13 years old in 1979 and ive heard and collected some elvis cds etc over the years, this was a absolute treasure of a find.36 years down the line, ive found the best ever Elvis concert put to CD.Elvis sounds to be on the best form ive ever heard, not a note wrong,a absolute treasure of a selection of songs for 1970,this was surely Elvis at his peak, this beats Madison Square,Aloha,Live in Memphis, and the 77 CBS special hands down, even other releases that are not official, this is the best ever,be assured.Polk Salad is the best ever,im sure from the 25th anniversary silver box set issued in 1980,and the rock n rollers are fantastic. From beginning to end,the sound is great. This couldve been an official release for sure. When you come across a treasure like this it makes all disappointments from other live releases go out the window.I say, release this officially...idve paid double for this fantastic concert, surely the best Elvis ever was in concert.AMAZING!!!
