All the range of IntelliTouch are excellent. In my job as a guitar teacher I've seen and used lots of tuners and I own four. If you can afford a better tuner then get one of the IntelliTouch ones. Of all the one's I've seen, until you get up into the top tuners at £80+, these are the best for the money. (They are also great for getting your scales intonation correct if you are a string player. I know orchestral music teacher colleagues hate tuners - but be a rebel and get one - you won't regret it - it will be our little secret).

This tuner seems to be the one that many good pro players are recommending because it works well and is good quality. Steve Kaufman, the famous bluegrass player and teacher, recommends this one and having spoken to him about it I know he really is a big fan of IntelliTouch. It's not because he makes money from promoting them - it's because in his position he can't be messing with anything that doesn't work 100%. So for me that makes this tuner THE ONE. You don't have to believe me either - but I have owned The Boss TU-12 (very good but £75), lots of the Thomann MT100 sold to students (OK for £7 and a metronome - best of the cheapies), the Korg CA40 (OK tuner but not robust at all) and the Intelli 500 (compact, easy to read but not as good as the PT10 in every way - it's also not an IntelliTouch product which is what I believed when I bought it.)

Now the price on these has come down again they are even better value since I wrote the above about two years ago.

I bought this tuner on recommendation of a friend, who had one and really loved it, and I haven't regretted the purchase.

I have had many different tuners, all of which have disappointed in some way. My main problem currently is that I tend to play a lot in a non-standard guitar tuning. This means that some tuners struggle to pick out the string notes (especially on the lowest guitar string) and generally don't have the sensitivity required. However, apart from the occasional blip, this tuner is by far much better at overcoming this problem, with its good sensitivity. I have heard some people complain about how the way it is set up means that you have to have it at a very odd angle on the guitar, but I have never found this a problem - once you get used to having the tuner below the headboard rather than above it.

Two very slight criticisms:
- The backlighting isn't as bright as some other tuners I have had, meaning that it is hard to notice the colour change in very bright light.
- Also, the tuner is very easy to turn on. This can be a good thing, when you just want to tune really quickly on stage, but can also be a huge pain as it means it can turn on in your guitar case (I have drained a battery this way before).

But on the whole, it's a great little tuner - the best I've found so far. It's true that it may be slightly more expensive than some other tuners, but in some cases you get what you pay for! So if you are regularly playing in an environment where there is a lot of background noise (making tuning by ear difficult) then I would definitely recommend the PT10.

This was my second clip-on tuner, and I have to say that it works very well indeed. Previously I had a very cheap clip on that I bought while in China, which was terrible and rather put me off the concept for a while. I'm glad to say that I took the plunge and bought this one, as it is excellent. Far superior in just about every way to both the Chinese version I had, and also my trusty old Boss tuner with an internal microphone. Being able to tune up while in noisy environments is priceless, and this tuner has a very bright and clear display, and reliably gets a large series of instruments in tune with the minimum of fuss.

Only 4 stars because it seems that a note that is dead centre on the display is actually a pretty wide range of notes, and sometimes require a bit of fine tuning. Plus I always seem to disagree with the B strings that tuners produce, but perhaps that's just me.

I bought this mostly just to test and was surprised to find that my guitars were all sharp compared with the level recommended by this tuner. I tuned them all down (so very easy to do with this tuner) and then checked with onboard tuners and the tuner on my amplifier. And what do you know? Each of those different tuners matched the Intellitouch PT10 Mini Tuner settings. I can only say, therefore, that this is more accurate than the tuner I have previously been using, it is simple to use, does not cost the earth, and is worth your trying it out.

Bought after reading some recommendations elsewhere. Very pleased with it. Compact size so easy to slip in your case, clear and bright screen, accurate reading, uncomplicated design. Good product.

This tuner is fast, accurate and works well in noisy conditions. The back-light is good for tuning in low light conditions.

This is the second PT10 that I have owned - the first got smashed when my guitar fell over with it clipped on; I immediately ordered a replacement.

I have used it to tune electric, acoustic and classical guitars and it works well for all of them. I have also had success tuning a banjo and a violin.

I have owned the earlier PT2 tuner for many years and was always very happy with it; I still have it and it still works. The PT10 is a big improvement on that.

For this money you can't go wrong with this - you will pay a lot more for one of these in a music shop. Highly recommended.

I bought the original PT1 many years ago which has served me well for my guitars and is still going strong, but I've recently started playing the ukulele and the PT1 was just too large. Searched the internet and found the PT10 which ticked all the boxes and,as I already had faith in the brand, it's purchase was a no brainer. The list price for this item is over £30 so £15 including delivery from Strings Only (Amazon Marketplace) was just a bonus. Really pleased with it, can leave it connected to headstock without noticing it's there.

I been playing guitar since 1968 as a child, had many tuners starting from tuning pipes! to expensive floor boxes. When head stock mini tuners came out some years ago I couldn't wait to try them. collected loads of different ones and must say that these intellitouch tuners are my favourites. Clear display, very accurate, strong clip etc. Obviously all these tuners eat batteries so carry spare 2032 batteries in your case.

Intellitouch PT10 Mini Tuner

I like these tuners a lot but does anyone know if you can get new batteries for them. I'm by no means a skinflint but it can be a bit annoying that when you need a new battery for your tuner you have to order a new tuner.

Does anyone know where the batteries can be obtained ?
