GX Racers Speed Assortment [Toy]

These cars are incredibly expensive for what you get (they retailed at 6.99 each then). They are very small and come with a heavy metal "engine" piece to use on GX tracks (if you have them)or if you just want to push them or a wheel that fits in the middle section of the car and a plastic "ripcord" that you insert in a hole and then pull to get the wheel to spin and set the car racing. They basically work on the same pribciple as Beyblade spinning battle tops if you remember the craze for those)

My son was quite excited by these and their speed from the TV adverts. I reluctantly bought two as we were going on hoilday and they are small and neat to carry (just a few centimeteres in height and about8cm in length). They were a little fiddly for my son and his friend to use at first (he is 7 and so I had to help) and one of the the cars worked better than the other. They work best on very flat surfaces such as wooden floors(unless they get caught in the gaps between the boards). They did get used on carpet as well during this play session and the fluff fromm the pile on the carpet got caught all around the mechanism. The boys thought they were a "bit bad" and "not fast like on TV". They haven't been used since - but thankfully I didn't buy the tightrope set first.The plastic ripper also looks like it could go out of shape quickly.

So, not that much fun, very expensive for what you get - not a success for us.

Very pleased with item, arrived before time stated which was good as I was late in ordering for son's birthday present. He enjoyed the playig with the present
