5.0 out of 5 stars Massive Melodic Metal!
A shame this album has not been released more widely (I had to hunt around for an importer before Amazon listed it).

Following on in the tradition of the previous Krypteria releases, My Fatal Kiss combines bassy riffs with beautiful melodic passages and the sweet, sweet voice of Ji-In Cho. Her vocal range is utterly fantastic, ranging from husky whispering...

1.0 out of 5 stars very poor quality digi-pac version
This is a review of the digi-pac and not on the music since most people reading this are no doubt already aware of how good Krypteria are as a band. I bought this far more expensive digi-pac version of the CD and was extremely disappointed. Digi-Pac versions of new release CD's are usually well presented limited editions that cost more to buy. This fails miserably in the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Massive Melodic Metal!, 21 Nov 2009
This review is from: My Fatal Kiss -Spec- (Audio CD)
A shame this album has not been released more widely (I had to hunt around for an importer before Amazon listed it).

Following on in the tradition of the previous Krypteria releases, My Fatal Kiss combines bassy riffs with beautiful melodic passages and the sweet, sweet voice of Ji-In Cho. Her vocal range is utterly fantastic, ranging from husky whispering voices to choral and operatic performances.

Don't be put off by the heavy intros to some of the songs (if you are listening to sample clips). Like the crusty coating on a soft centre sweet, these bely the beauty that lies beneath. It's basically a Krypteria trademark, along with the sudden breaks, key changes and abrupt ends to some of the songs.

Both Krypteria and Ji-In really deserve exposure to a much wider audience.

Enjoy the music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album excellente music, 6 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: My Fatal Kiss -Spec- (Audio CD)
This is one of the better symphonic metal bands out there. The production is good, the vocals are not back in the mix and full of echos like most of the other bands in the genter. The Korean singer has a good voice and the tunes are solid.
A big 5 star album

1.0 out of 5 stars very poor quality digi-pac version, 21 July 2010

This review is from: My Fatal Kiss (Audio CD)
This is a review of the digi-pac and not on the music since most people reading this are no doubt already aware of how good Krypteria are as a band. I bought this far more expensive digi-pac version of the CD and was extremely disappointed. Digi-Pac versions of new release CD's are usually well presented limited editions that cost more to buy. This fails miserably in the 'well presented' aspect and it's simply folded cardboard with a plastic cd holder in the centre. There's not even a place to hold the lyrics booklet which falls out as soon as you open up the pac. Once you've picked the booklet up off the floor,(hopefully missing the coffee spill etc) this can be seen to be the same booklet you'd get in the standard -cheaper- plastic cased CD version.
When compared to deluxe digi-pac releases from melodic power metal bands such as Edguy/Avantasia/Masterplan/Amorphis etc. this looks like something you used to pick up for a pound out a Woolworths dump bin where all the low quality British rubbish would be sold off.
Generally a poor effort that's obviously trying to get the extra money without much being added in regard to quality and presentation.
