The Gelignite Gang is just one of two films made by Cybex productions at Brighton Film studios in the 1950s. Starring American Wayne Morris who had been in films since the early 1930s and co-starring husband and wife team Patrick Holt and Sandra Dorne along with James Kenney (Cosh Boy) who had cornered the market in 1950s tearaways.

I disagree with the previous reviews. This is a weak story with ham acting, would struggle to make a B movie category, probably due to the absence of any noteable actors. Give it a miss is my advice.

The film is well paced and has the bonus of a musical sequence "Soho Mambo" performed by the glamorous Simone Silva. Locations are Brighton and Hove and this is a nostalgic trip back to the 1950s. Picture and sound quality are good and this is another excellent addition to the Renown Pictures catalogue.

First time I have seen this film, we enjoyed it, a good film with a good unguessable twist at the end.

I cannot agree with your ONE star reviewer. In my opinion the acting is good and the plot has one guessing right to the end. Two of the actors should be well known to viewers from many other notable films, namely Eric Pohlmann and Lloyd Lamble (from the St. Trinian's series where he appears in harness with the unforgetable Joyce Grenfell).
