Great Scanner / Trash Antenna, 20 Jan 2011
This review is from: Uniden UBC-72XLT Handheld Radio Scanner with Close Call
This is a great little scanner fits in a pocket easily, sounds good too, no rattling speaker as with many budget radios, solid build, and thats how it feels too 'SOLID' I've dropped mine a couple of times and it bounces well :-) If you are buying this scanner to listen to Civil Airband only I would recommend you buy a decent dedicated Airband Antenna because the one on it is absolutely useless. I often struggle to hear the transmissions from Tower/Ground at Manchester Airport even when I'm in sight of the Tower, also It stuggles to recieve when I'm at home (2 miles from Manchester Airport) but when I have the scanner plugged into the Airband Antenna on my van it's brilliant. This unit is fantastic, all you do is program the frequencies in, select the channel banks you want to scan, and let it scan, can select the frequencies you wish to listen on and away you go, fast easy set up and excellent value for money,
