Razer Sphex mousemat for Aimon Elite
on 24 May 2012
Excellent mousemat. I mainly bought it for the Tuact Aimon Elite mouse, which it does work well with. One of the problems with these mice is finding a suitable mat that compliments it for accurate gaming use. Luckily, this does the job. I previously bought the Razer Vespula but just didn't like it. I'm getting 40-60 on the Aimon mouse test with this mousemat.
It's a slippy surface, mouse just glides along. Much less friction than a cloth mat. Resolution and accuracy is good, but takes a bit of adjustment because of the sheer speed of this mat. Also tried it on my PC optical mouse and it worked really well.
It's nice and thin, and very unobtrusive. Material-wise, you don't get much for your money, but it makes up for it with the performance and quality. There are dearer mats that don't work as well as this. Recommend it.
EDIT Oct '12: the grainy surface isn't lasting the tests of time. I don't use it that often, if I did, things would be much worse, but the tiny grains on the mat start of come lose/break free, and you can feel them moving under your mouse, which is very annoying and can ruin your tracking, especially in the heat of gaming. It's loosing 2 stars over this. I might buy another though, because for a tenner, you can't go wrong. It tracks well with the Tuact Aimon controllers, which as you'd know if you own one, finding a good mat is like finding hens teeth.
