Hoover Dust Manager - poor quality
on 9 March 2010
I chose the Hoover Dust Manager as it was a reasonably priced vacuum cleaner and has the Hoover name. Previous hoovers, like the Hoover Junior models, were well built and easily lasted 10 or 20 years or more and are still being used or reconditioned and sold today. However, this model is made from cheap plastic which feels like it will crack easily. The cover of the power switch on mine has already broken off - luckily it is only cosmetic and doesn't expose any electrical components.
The Hoover is unstable when using the suction nozzle and the one I bought did not have a full stair height hose, it only reaches half way.
When using the hoover normally, the hose tends to pop out of its housing resulting in a loss of suction.
Unfortunately a poorly designed model. Hoover are not the company they once were!
