This review is from: Mask Series 2 Box Set [DVD] [1985] (DVD)
Well after a delayed release (due to copyrights changing hands from Disney to Cookie Jar), MASK Box Set 2 is finally here which includes episodes 39-75 completing the series, yes it includes the 10 episode Racing Season (Season 2) as well.

The quality is that of normal standard episodes from master tapes, like Box Set 1, these episodes have not been re-mastered. This is due to the sets being distributed by a smaller distribution company and hardily any fan demand for such restoration. There is also no extras (since hardily will exsist for an old 80's cartoon, unless the companies involved actually looked for something decent), but I'm content on just getting the episodes.

There is however a couple of flaws, the episode 'The Creeping Desert' has a very faint extra vocal track in the background (from the episode 'The Lost Fleet' also on this set), this is an error that was present on the master tape used for the DVD transfer so that can't be helped, however this shouldn't discourage you from watching the episode, you can still hear the proper dialogue, music, sound effects etc, despite the very faint extra audio track.

The other flaw is with Disk 4 that houses the Racing Season, some of the episodes are presented in the wrong order, but this is a very minor flaw as all 10 episodes are present on the disk.

So despite the flaws, I would still buy this to complete your collection, especially if you have all ready brought MASK Box Set 1.

So prepare to see Matt Tracker and Miles Mayhem do battle once more, see new agents like Julio Lopez for MASK and Nash Gorey for VENOM (and other new agents) make their Season 1 debut, see the new MASK and VENOM racing vehicles go head to head in races across the globe and always, always get ready to hear more bad puns from T-Bob!

When I was a kid there were a lot of cartoons on TV, this was simply one of them but, the opening of this cartoon was kept in my head for years and years!!! I'm a sort of collector of cartoons and animes, and since this one brought me memories, I decided to buy the entire series! Oh, was I right to do it!

This is a great cartoon if you can appreciate good quality cartoons of the eighties. It has futuristic masks, multifunctional vehicles, a pinch of laughter, worldwide sceneries and the always present lesson to learn in the end! Priceless and Timeless!

The only downsides are the previously mentioned quality of the image (we can say it's a vintage series and that the quality is part of its status...), the lack of fan directed extras, and the advisable calm you must have in watching the episodes. This last one refers to the predictableness and repetition of the episodes story type, a typical seventies/eighties formula of cartoons.

None the less, a great buy and a must have!!! Very nice price for a four disc pack loaded of episodes and hours of fun!

This is a great box set because of the great detail that has gone into make it. Another reason is that Boulder Hill is seen in action, which was best toys to have of the M.A.S.K. range.
It has final 27 episodes from season one and the complete season two "Racing Series".
This is a must have for any M.A.S.K. fan.

Fantastic, seen most of them as a kid on Sky channel. I have the complete set now, my son (4 years old) keeps asking me to put them on.
