I first brought this album on vinyl on its release. This was before it was re-released with "she Blinded me with science" and "one of our submarines is missing" on it and even then it was a classic. I believe that "radio silence" on the CD is a remix and although good is not quite as good as the original.
However the latest version of this album still holds up well despite the loss from the original release of "Wreck of the Fairchild".
Definately worth buying purely for the moods Dolby can create with his music.

I bought this to replace my scratched and heavily abused vinyl copy. The only problem is that the songs are out of sequence compared to the original vinyl and that ruined the overall effect for me. 4 stars out of five though, and I'll be interested in the forthcoming remasterd version out soon

His best album, how can it not be?
Wonderful analogue synths, dark 'Cold War' sensibility, lyrics that take you so far beyond 'boy meets girl'!
The only downside is all the confusing different versions - there's a good explanation here:
