PLEASE NOTE :: " Mini DVI " is NOT the same as " Mini DisplayPort " !!! :::: Its is extremely common for folks to buy the wrong adapter and need to return or exchange despite the *** warnings *** in the product info above (I guess folks read reviews more than product info) ... so please read the following info and also the product info as it may help !!!

As it says in the product description ::: This "Mini DisplayPort" adapter is used to " Connect new generation Apple MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with Mini Displayport " . This is for newer generation Macs from late 2008 onwards such as the UNIBODY MacBook and MacBook Pro and AIR ... also the newer iMacs.

Most slightly older Macs (Including MacBook, MacBook Pro and Air ... UP TO late 2008) have a different, slightly bigger but similar looking port called " Mini DVI " and this is NOT the same as " Mini DisplayPort " ... and will not fit.

There are also a couple of other, less common adapters that Apple used briefly... one is called "Mini VGA" (found on older Macs) and another is called " Micro DVI " (found on the MacBook Air for one year only) ... these are far less common but still get confused. ( Even Apple can give the wrong advise (eg: telling customers that Mini VGA is Mini DVI but an older version so folks go looking for an older Mini DVI which does not exist ))

The bottom line is to be sure and check your port before buying ... and if in any doubt, please contact Neet Cables via ' contact seller ' on Amazon.

The Neet support is amazing, the cable is high quality and is more compatible than Apple's own!

This adapter supports DVI-I and DVI-D, so you can be sure to get a fantastic picture on any DVI compatible monitors.

I was looking for this cable thinking I would have to buy the apple brand cable to work with the silly apple display port, but Neet proved me wrong!

The cable seem to be more solid than other Apple cables i've bought in the past and is compatible with my mac as well as the other Apple cables I have.

Good quality cable, which does exactly what it's supposed to. A great alternative to Apples own offering and as another reviewer has already said, it does more because it's DVI-I and DVI-D compatible.

I've been using the adaptor for a fortnight & it's working perfectly. It's a high quality product & works absolutely perfectly with my Macbook Pro. I'd recommend it.

I bought this after previously buying a very similarly styled adaptor for an older Mac which I had to return - no problems with Neet on the return, first class service there.
If you've bought a unibody (aluminium monoblock) Mac this is the one you need. If it's an older Mac you need something else. I would not dare to suggest what, as this whole DVI / VGA / HDMI compatibility issue is a nightmare.

Ordered one afternoon, dispatched that evening, received 1st class post next morning - at a fraction of Apples price. Full marks Neet and Royal Mail

Using this with a MacBook Pro 2009 and a Dell display without any problems. Plugged it in and it worked straight away. The picture has no problems and all the colours appear correctly. The item feels lighter than I expected but seems to have a good build quality and good connectors.

There have been a number of negative reviews about this item but it has worked a treat for me.

I have it connected to my iMac 21.5 inch (2011 i5 model) and am using my old Samsung 19" monitor as dual display.

While I can't comment on how sturdy it is if being used on a laptop and in an out of a bag, for use as a static dual display it is perfect.

This adaptor was simply perfect, allowing me to connect my macbook pro (with mini displayport) to my 20" cinema display. Worked straight away, and half the price of the official version. Excellent.
