5.0 out of 5 stars Kapersky v Norton
This is a far superior product compared to Norton. I must say that I have had Norton for years but my computer got a 'trojan' and Norton would not clear it. I purchased this product as it was half the price compared to renewing Norton and as soon as it was installed the 'trojan' was deleted and my computer is running soother and faster than with Norton. For years as I...

1.0 out of 5 stars A real disappointment lately!
I've used this product for years, love it, no problem, sang it's praises to anyone who'd listen. Purchased a 3 user last year 09 version, hours after loading it on my PC, it slowed considerably, then it just kept freezing. Trying to get support from Kaspersky was like pulling teeth, in the end they said my PC needing updating. I remove Kaspersky from PC loaded on...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)

I have been using KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) on my PC for a couple of year now. Having used McAfee and a few free ones in the past KIS is, in my opinion, by far the best.
Unlike McAfee you don't have to agree to pay for the subsequent years security before installation, one is reminded that renewal is due and offered a discounted price on the next years licence. However even the discounted price is higher than that found in some shops and particularly on Amazon. Buying software over the internet has it's dangers. Apparently lots of software bought on the net can be illegal copies or faulty. It is therefore important to buy from a trusted source. Last year I paid Kaspersky for the renewal and then noticed I could have bough a licence cheaper elswhere. This year that's what I did. I bought a disc and licence off Amazon. Having bought KIS it is just a simple matter of installing your new latest copy of KIS over the old or if you are already running the latest issue, just change the activation code.

I fully recommend this product and as always, the free delivery was very prompt.

I've upgraded to this version from the 2009 and I like it so much so that I've just installed it on another computer in the house. The Virtual keyboard is now easier to access with a link in the top corner of your browser, there's a URL advisor to check all web pages for suspected phishing site links and the gaming mode is excellent for all those serious gamers who don't like to be disturbed.
A good upgrade for happy Kaspersky customers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had changed to this years ago!, 7 Dec 2009

I have had Norton Security since I bought our first PC many years ago, as they were THE name in the PC antivirus world. Years have gone by with our PC being slow, especially at start up and we just accepted that this was the norm when you had to have a shield against the bad things that can infect PCs and that everyone was in the same boat so to speak.

However, I got to the point where I couldn't put up with it any longer as every time I booted my PC up, my system went at such a slow speed I couldn't use it, due to Norton always doing something in the background.

Two days ago, I bought Kaspersky 2010, uninstalled Norton completely, installed Karskpesky and 'wow'! it's like I have bought a new PC. It's brilliant, no more lengthy start-ups, no hanging, no crashing, no slowness. Norton was obviously tangled into a lot of things that were slowing down the operating systems on my PC and I'm glad to be rid of it.

If you want an Internet Security, go for Karspesky.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent software - but you can buy 2009 version (cheaper) and upgrade to 2010 free, 24 Mar 2010
This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 1 User, 1 Year License, 2010 (PC CD) (CD-ROM)
I've used Kaspersky Internet Security for several years now and I cannot fault it. My PCs and laptop seem to perform better than when I used Norton products and the updates are very frequent and unobtrustive.

The latest version (2010) seems to be considerably more expensive than the 2009 version however it's worth pointing out that you can buy the 2009 version cheaper and once you've activated it you can download the latest version (2010) from Kaspersky online and upgrade at no extra cost. I've done this recently and Kaspersky actively uncourage you to use the latest version of their software so why not save yourself some money, but the 2009 disc and then upgrade it to 2010 for free. It's really easy to do.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the better antivirus products but not perfect, 13 Nov 2009

I've been a fan of Kaspersky for many years and purchased this latest version when my licence expired. As usual with this type of product the online licence renewal is far more expensive than buying the latest product from Amazon or PCWorld. Kaspersky of course, frequently wins product tests, and the scanning engine is used in other anti-virus products such as F-secure. Its pretty straightforward to use, yet allows the more experienced user to configure scanning and firewall options quite deeply.

I found this version to install nicely on Windows 7 64bit, but was a bit surprised that it didn't update its database immediately - it required a manual prod. Other than that, no gotchas. The Kaspersky firewall is enabled automatically and disables the Windows firewall, albeit telling you what it is doing. I haven't configured it fully yet, and some tuning is necessary as the scans are taking quite a while - for example installing new software takes upto 10 seconds to respond while the initial scan completes.

Having said that, I've never been infected with any virus or malware when running Kaspersky, and perhaps that is the ultimate test - it does what it says on the tin. Overall, I'd give it 9/10 with its nearest rival getting perhaps a 7/10.

Switched from AVG and Norton a couple of years ago and have had no problems with Kapersky.

The call centre is generally very helpful (Ireland).

Always cheaper to buy each year from Amazon than direct!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Internet Security Software, 26 Nov 2009
This review is from: Kaspersky Internet Security 1 User, 1 Year License, 2010 (PC CD) (CD-ROM)
Ive used many Antivirus and Security softwares from AVG, AVAST, Comodo, ZoneAlarm to Norton - I have found them all to be unsatisfactory in some way or other - they either slowed the operating system down and/or caused other problems.

Kaspersky however is the only Antivirus/Internet Security suite that I have ever used which has not caused problems on my operating system.

In fact the security suite is very simple to use and is a pleasure to work with. It detects and stops threats without making it a hassle to your op. I find it very fast and it has an extremely light footprint on your operating system.

Im giving this 5 stars because I have found no problems with it yet - It ticks all the boxes and offers much much more than other security software I have used.

I remove Kaspersky from PC loaded on something else, PC working fine! Gave it to my Sister who had the same issue when she loaded it on her PC had to remove it too.

Decided to load onto my new laptop, with hours, laptop slowed to a stop, constantly freezing up, having to restart laptop continously. Once again, support for a Home user is like pulling teeth. Now three separate PC's can't be a coincidence! I done with them!.
