This is a great product and works great with my iPhone 3GS. As with previous reviewer I have paired this with a Belkin Micro USB car charger for a very slick and good value car installation.

Worth noting that the split is towards the iPhone end of the cable, so the USB and 3.5 jack have longer separate wires.

Quite simply the best product of it's type.

I have an iPhone 3G and trying to find accessories that work with it is a nightmare.

This lead works as it should and importantly does not make the phone display the annoying 'not made for iPhone, turn on plane mode' function.

Incase you were wondering, it charges from the USB plug and plays via the jack and both functions can work independently of each other.

Also the vendor is incredibly helpful and delivery was swift.

Will require a USB socket or similar solution for you car's cigarette lighter if it does not have one.

Sound quality is superb. I will be buying another for my other car!

Bought item to go with new style ford focus. Product does what says. Plug in using USB and audio in. Select iPod in stereo system and bob is your uncle. Works very well and impressed with quality and fact that can use steering wheel controls to change artists, playlists etc etc.

Bought to link an ipod touch 2nd gen to 2010 Ford Focus with Comms pack - works perfectly, much better than the separate ipod lead and 3.5mm jack was using previously - ipod charges and is fully controllable by the stereo, and remains linked when ignition turned off and on again - very pleased with purchase -much cheaper then the Ford item.

If you have the same set up as myself in the car - using your iPhone to play music, sat nav and of course as a phone then you probably have the situation where you are stuck with two cables coming from the phone, one for power and of course the AUX cable into your stereo.

If thats the case then this cable is a perfect solution - simply plug into your phone and power/stereo and away you go. The sound quality is perfect as far as i can tell and it powers the phone as expected. The benefit is that you now only have one cable trailing from the phone (until it splits) making keeping the dashboard clear and safe much easier. This especially is helpful if you want to be able to switch the phone from portrait to landscape.

Great cable and certainly worth the investment - until i get a car with bluetooth of course!

I bought this cable for my 62 plate Focus ST as i wanted to use my ipod in the car...and after looking online about how to connect my ipod it appeard i needed either this cable (£4) or fords own cable (£30).

However, after trying this cable and realising it would only work to either charge the ipod or play i thought i would try the standard ipod cable which comes free with all Imac products! This does everyhting...so in essence, ive bought an item which in fact was not needed!

No point returning it though for £4...im just going to use the aux cable for my speakers etc in my house!

For a new focus...try your standard ipod cable first!

I have the iPhone 4 and a 57 plate Golf GTi, in case that helps. Item was delivered promptly and does the job really well. Also has a neat little lock on the charger, in that it locks into the phone until you gently squeeze the 2 little buttons to release, unlike much more expensive Apple products.

Delivery from Alphasonix was excellent, Tuesday morning from a Sunday night order, but the product itself disappoints. In my car, BMW (which the product description specifically mentioned as a suitable car) with USB interface controlled through radio (no iDrive), it doesn't offer any additional functionality over the standard iPod USB connector - other than the car thinks it also has an auxiliary input which lets you adjust the volume (already got a volume button so no real gain there). Can't notice any difference in sound quality. The BMW bespoke Y-connector does offer slightly improved functionality recognising Playlists but at a prohibitively high price of £42 from my dealer. If you just want an extra connector, then its fine, but it is limited in the functionality it delivers - which is really BMW's own design problem I guess.

I bought this to use my iphone 3GS to play music in my Landrover Discovery which has an aux socket. Works perfectly. I also bought a Belkin Micro USB CLA adapter so I also use it to charge my iphone through the 12v socket in the front of the car. The cable seems really well made and it does everything I hoped it would.

This has to be one of the best iPhone accessories available, and for a great price. I use it with an iPhone 3GS with the lastest firmware it works brilliantly. Having tried others previuosly that sounded terrible or simply didn't work (displaying the infamous "Incompatible" message) this is what you need if you have an Aux Connection on your car stereo.

I use it with a Brodit Holder with pass-through connection and a Belkin USB Charger. Simply drop the iPhone in the cradle and play your music. The other useful thing is that by charging whilst playing your display will stay on and won't automtiaclly lock.
