It's difficult to find the size of most mouse products. This one is approx 94mm long, 37mm high and 54mm wide tapering to 45mm at the side grip. With the single AA cell it weighs 92gm.
It tracks well on a good variety of surfaces and there's no noticeable lag in normal PC work. The buttons click quietly. The wheel clicks quite smoothly as you rotate it. You can't...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great mouse, but a gas guzzler
Really nice lightweight mouse. Very responsive.

Downside is that I'm replacing the battery once a month. I'd get 6 months out of my previous Microsoft mouse. OK, that did have 2 AA batteries, but still, that makes this one 3 times worse.

You can't just spin the wheel like more expensive Logitech mice.
The side scrolling feature, handy in big spreadsheets, only works if you download the Logitech Setpoint software. When I did that (Dec 09) the site said no software available for this model. Entered M505 model number instead and got the software OK. Logitech - update your download site!
Overall recommended with the cheaper prices, but only used for a few days so far.

I have just bought this mouse today to replace my other Logitech mouse that broke after several years of use. This mouse is quite small as it is optimised for laptop use but could easily be used as a desktop mouse. The receiver is a 'nano-receiver' and really is Nano in size, its barely noticeable attached to my MacBook which is a big positive because my previous mouse receiver was the size of a regular usb dongle which actually meant I couldn't attach other USB's because it encroached on the neighboring slot.

It is extremely comfortable to use and Logitech is a quality make. Highly recommended and is very cheap for the product you are getting.

I chose this as my personal mouse for my laptop. It has brilliant design features and layout, not as cumbersome as its heavier Logitech cousins due to only requiring one battery.

The receiver stores inside the mouse as with other wireless Logitech models so it reduces the chances of you losing it! It was a bit small at first but I got used to it and completed two pc games successfully.

Switches off and on manually like other contemporary wireless mice. Automatically shuts off if left on. I can only think that with such brilliant mouse designs why don't they do more styles?

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 13 Aug 2010
This review is from: Logitech Wireless Mouse M305 Dark Silver - 910-000937 (Electronics)
I've not posted a product response before, but this mouse is so good that I felt I had to.

First things first: I ordered it on 7th August, and it was delivered on 12th August (with Free Super Saver Delivery) - well within the delivery estimate of 17th August.

The mouse itself is so easy to use. It arrived, as is the custom, with an instruction booklet; however you don't need this. Just plug in the nano-receiver into the USB port on your computer, insert the supplied battery into the body of the mouse, and quite literally, away you go. In fact my instruction booklet is still unopened in its package by the side of my desk.

The only adjustment I made to the standard set-up was to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse by going into Control Panel and adjusting the Pointer Settings, but only by one click downwards. Otherwise, it is absolutely spot on. It provides precise navigation, and even when clicking on fiddly links it zeros in on where I want it to without any drop-outs, random floating or any other issues.

This really is an excellent device. In fact, I wish I could give it more than five stars.

Bought this for 15 pounds and what a great mouse it is.
Doesn't disconnect like my last Microsoft one and is much smoother.
Great for AutoCAD and the like as it is very accurate and sensitive.
The nano receiver is great because i broke a dongle style one before, rendering the mouse useless.
Brilliant mouse and a steal at this price!!
Also has scroll up/down/sideways too and on/off button.
One AA battery required (supplied)

4.0 out of 5 stars A good wireless mouse, 3 Sep 2010

I bought the Logitech M305 to use with my laptop, and selected this model principally because of the small dongle, which can be left in situ. The mouse itself feels comfortable to use even though it is smaller than a "desktop" wired mouse, and is that little bit more portable of course.

The mouse has the three controls that I use (left-click, right-click and scroll) and none of the ones that I never use, and can be switched off (with the admittedly rather tiny switch underneath) when not in use. I have only been using the M305 for a few weeks, so I can't usefully comment on battery life yet.

Perhaps the mouse would benefit from a parking slot for the dongle for use on the odd occasion - where else would you keep the dongle without losing it? - but this is a counsel of perfection.

Overall I'm pleased with the Logitech M305 and can recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy addition for my Laptop, 23 Nov 2010

I recently bought this superb little mouse as I don't get on too well with the pad type navigation of my laptop. The dongle is really compact which allows that I leave in its usb slot all the time. The mouse is small and tidy, allowing me left or right hand use with a good scrolling feature. One battery which has so far not needed replacement has worked very well. The laptop detects its use immediately its switched on too. Great little tool!

5.0 out of 5 stars Going The Mile, 10 Jan 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Logitech Wireless Mouse M305 Dark Silver - 910-000937 (Electronics)
Hi Friends
I have been using this mouse for 8 hours every day for a month since purchase .
I am pleased to report it has not skipped a beat from day one.
Still on the same single battery supplied.
This was my main concern as other wireless mice I owned have lasted only a few days even with 2 batteries installed.

I think the reason is the fact it uses AA cell as opposed to AAA cell batteries Plus the built-in power saving design.

As for build I have another logitech mouse which is 5 years old and still perfect.
GO FOR IT!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but what happened to the auto-off function?, 5 Jan 2010

I originally purchased this mouse due to previous experience with an earlier model. It works just as good. It is precise, small but ergonomical, and the scroll-wheel is an excellent addition to the touchpad on my laptop. This model has the "nano" usb-connector, which is great in the sense that it can just be plugged in constantly, to no nuisance. It does lack one thing though, the auto-off function of the previous model. On previous models, the usb-connector fit on the back of the mouse, with a simple mechanism, that automatically turned off the mouse. This is not present on this model, which means that I have to carefully slide the off button, when I am done using it. It is a small thing, but actually a step backwards, in my view. Overall though, this is well worth the money, and a great addition to a laptop. Recommendable!
