O.K. I Know there are a few Nazareth compilations available, the main difference with this one is it not only contains all the major singles, but it also includes some album tracks which otherwise may of been missed by anyone wanting an introduction to one of the greatest bands ever to walk this earth. One of the great bonus's of this cd are the album tracks featured are included in their uncut versions where as tracks like "Telegram" has appeared before but in edited versions. The real bonus is the inclusion of the awesome "No Mean City" in its complete version. The only minor gripe with the cd is the fact the running order, all the well known tracks ie singles are on cd 1,why not mix the track listing up so some of the better known tracks are mixed in with the later material on cd 2.But don't let that put you off buy the cd and turn the volume up to full and listen to a truly brilliant band at the peak of their power.

TOP 500 REVIEWERon 23 August 2009
This is a fantastic compilation of Nazareth's career, the disc is worth the money for tracks 1-7 on disc 1 alone!!!.Opening with a quartet from the classic Razamanaz, the title track, singles bad bad boy/broken down angel and the stunning woke up this morning(out Quoing Quo with that riff), disc 1 continues with classic after classic and essentially proves that Nazareth really are one of rocks most underated bands, listen to the tracks from LOUD AND PROUD/RAMPANT & HAIR OF THE DOG - forget Guns and roses being influenced so were Aerosmith!!,the rock machine continues with Telegram,Expect no mercy and No Mean City heavy rock for the masses, throw in some choice singles (love hurts, this flight... and my white bicycle) and you have pretty much the definitive 70's nazareth(although its a shame nothing from '76's Play 'n' the game disc is included. If like me you always assumed that nazareth retired after the 70's then disc 2 is an eye opener, certainly the ist 3 tracks including the fantastic just get into it( all from no mean city) lead you to believe the rock will remain heavy but the bands 80's and 90's output is certainly more varied with a fair amount of AOR,disc 2 will probably not be as immediate to casual listeners but is worth sticking with as tracks like dream on/hearts grown cold and piece of my heart are all pretty classy, the rock world kept happy with holiday(love those sarcastic lyrics) and this months messiah, things are brought up to date with the most recent discs Boogaloo and the Newz being represented.Again you could ask why the album Cinema isnt represented as it was one of their best from the 80's but realistically we should just be happy that Nazareth appear to have a decent label taking an interest in their back catalogue, one final point the musicianship displayed on this disc really is superb,ps did anyone ever consider Dan McCafferty as replacement for Bon Scott? he would have been fantastic, although Nazareth might not have survived, anyway buy this and your music collection will be enhanced.

I recently downloaded the Nazareth Anthology, i didn't realise how good Nazareth were.
It makes a change to hear and like all the tracks on an album, most enjoyable.

I was indecisive about whether to get a compilation by The Naz, or to get some of their albums. I opted for the compilation.
This has the usual problem I seem to encounter with a lot of compilations these days. While it's not bad value for two discs worth of music, I won't play the 2nd CD apart from the first two tracks very much.
After that point, we seem to stray into middle of the road balladry/serious artist mode where the band seem to completely forgo their roots and try to cater for a wider (softer) market. I don't think it does them any justice.
I'll now go off and cherry pick the individual CD's based on the best of CD1.
