Needed something good.
Looked around for a couple of months, this monitor for the price did everything I wanted with an LG name.My only small gripe which I think applies to all recent LG monitors is the silly hidden controls on the side of the monitor,if you move it you tend to press them without knowing (they should be visable on the front)apart from that brilliant.

Somewhat disappointing
This is a good monitor with one, very serious problem: although it says everywhere that it has HDMI input, it is only in a very small print hidden in the manual where it says that it does not work with PCs! Why should a manufacturer do that is a mystery to me, but here is the fact: I only bought this model because it had HDMI in addition to VGA and DVI, and HDMI does not...

Brilliant, 24 Jan 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
This is the first separate monitor that I've bought, to go along with a monitor less computer. It took me a week to decide which one of the mulitude LG and Samsung monitors to buy, and I opted for this (albeit not from Amazon) due to the HDMI 1080 screen, plus VGA and DVI ports. I also read a very good online review for this screen on an Australian IT review website.
The 1920 width is great for having two documents open at the same time - though I do have a second 15" LCD in portrait mode for that.
There are no built in speakers, hence it's a brilliant compact size and light weight - there is a headphone socket on the back.
I bought this for general IT use, not for gaming, but I'm sure the crispness of this display will be great for my non-professional photo editing as well as the occasional gaming and watching videos.
Well worth the money, especially with a 3 year guarantee

Combine PC & PS3 with audio - Outstanding, 4 July 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
This monitor is outstanding value for money and is the perfect solution to combining a PC (or in my case a Mac) with a PS3 on one monitor. I bought this monitor based on other good reviews, but a lot of them failed to mention some of its key benefits. This monitor will take a DVI from you PC and a HDMI from the PS3 at the same time and with both units powered up, you can then switch painlessly between both units using a nicely positioned source selection button. The monitor also has an audio out mini phone jack which I can plug my speaker system in to get the PS3 audio without any more cables or adapters. The screen quality is also great. If you need a bedroom/office single screen solution, then this is it. So happy with this purchase.

Great monitor., 20 May 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
For the price, this monitor is an absolute bargain for those looking for a gaming/multimedia screen.
It is actually 21.5", however for my needs I see this as a bonus due to it's full HD resolution makes the pixels very small - great for those looking for smooth visuals even without antialiasing cranked up. You'll be pleased to know that it shows 1280x720 well too, infact even my sensitive eyesight has been struggling to notice it when AA is on x16Q.
Backlight bleeding is unnoticable from a comfortable viewing distance when displaying black, and colours needed no changing - however I did have to turn the brightness and contrast down somewhat.
From my personal experience (4 LG screens) 2 have had dead pixels. I'm sure this is just unlucky on my part, but make sure you check your screen (use a program that can display bright colours full screen) for any dead or lazy pixels.

Needed a new Monitor NOW!, 17 Dec 2009
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
My old monitor dropped dead. I needed a new one immediately as I needed to sort-out my banking and NOT tomorrow! Bought the LG W2261VP locally as the price looked ok for its specifications, and it is. All required cables included, nothing missing or non-standard. But no instructions, only a CD! How am I going to read the instructions? 'Cos I don't have a monitor connected on which to read the instructions! In a good old loop! (Or Catch 22 - I actually read the book 45 years ago so I know what Catch 22 means!!) Anyway, I digress.
Ok, so just connect everything in sight. Did that but couldn't figure out why the monitor kept switching on and off. Checked the mains cable - ok. (And pleased to find it is connected directly to mains - not via a clumsy transformer box). I eventually spotted the on/off thingy which only seems to need the presence of your hand near to it to accuate it. Well everything worked fine and so I was able to load the CD and read the instructions - which I hardly needed anyway!
Cracking monitor. Set it up to my preferences with no trouble. Good performance and power saving features. Not sure about the on/off switch- too easy to accidently actuate. But if you're going to the lav and you may be some time, just wave your hand at the lower right-hand corner of the monitor and do some power saving whilst you're away!

Value & Quality, 5 Mar 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
Great monitor. Superb using HDMI interface - no setting-up needed as it just works. Picture quality is excellent.
Be aware that there is no height adjustment, but on a normal desk it is just fine. Also note that the screen is matt, if you were hoping for a glossy finish.

Outstanding, 1 Sep 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
I needed a screen for gaming and fancied a monitor over a TV since its neater, easier to move about and I really didnt need a TV. I did some research, read reviews, searched the internet and compared monitors and TV's that are compatible with games and came to the conclusion that this was the best for gaming and with HDMI graphics!
I simply cannot fault the monitor and agree with anyone who values this as a 5 STAR product. Everything about it is great, graphics incredible, construction is stable and tidy, screen size is perfect for all ages to work with and its easy to setup.
This is a monitor and therefore has no sound. Because of this, the monitor has an audio port (headphones) port, on the back which allows you to plug your surround sound speakers in and its fantastic to play games/films on a tidy crisp screen. There are function buttons at the side of the monitor that al;low you to adjust volume levels, brightness and the other usual options.
To turn the monitor on...there no button..what the hell? ive never in my life seen a more fancy and unique way of turning a monitor on. The instructions show you how but me being me i didnt read them and had to work it out. There is a transparant strip with a nice red line running along the bottom of the monitor with a drip like feature on the right hand side. you simply touch the drip and HEY BINGO the monitor comes to life. To turn off, again, touch the drip.
By far the best gadget ive bought this year alongside my PS3. No faults and even being a strict reviewer i value this product 10/10

Almost Perfect, 17 July 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
I bought this a few weeks back, and so far has been amazing. My main uses for it are video editing, gaming and watching movies, and it certainly doesnt disappoint in these areas. Blu-ray movies in 1080p look incredible, but compared with other monitors the picture quality looks a little washed out. The size is comfortable, and the general design is modern and stylish. The control menu is easy to navigate, and has pretty much everything you need. The only problem I had is with the speakers, as there are none built in, but there are headphone ports and speakers can be connected. Overall, this monitor has exceeded my expectations, and I would certainly recommend it.

Excellent monitor if you need HDMI, 20 Jun 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
Outstanding monitor for the price if you need an HDMI connection. Screen is fantastic quality, and I love the touch-sensitive nubble which stands in for a power button. My only criticism would be that the stand doesn't tilt anywhere nearly as easily as the description suggests.

LG W2261VP 22 Inch LCD Monitor, 24 April 2010
This review is from: LG W2261VP 22 inch LCD Monitor 16:9 DVI HDMI - Black (Electronics)
Arrived quickly. Came with both VGA and DVI cables which was nice. Screen works start out of the box, and works well with my macbook pro. Through the OS X operating system it is easy to configure colour etc. The full HD (1080p) looks amazing when videos/trailers are being watched, and the HDMI means that it can be used other than a PC monitor. All in all very happy.
