At a time when there are less than 100 of The Few still alive, and at the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, THIS, along with another BBC CD "From The Archives" allows you to hear from the men themselves. This does NOT glorify war - it gives you both the official AND the actual feel of 1940

A treasure trove. Pilots speaking in wartime broadcasts, many aces like Malan, Johnson, Ryder and others as well as sounds of Merlins, combats over Dover and the Channel recorded live complete with bombs going off, and guns firing. Will leave you stunned to silence at the end. Churchills speeches of The Few summed up how these men saved Britain in 1940. This is their story in their own words and sadly the last we will hear of them as many did not survive the war or have passed on since. Paul Davies Battle of Britain Historical Society

Great recordings , the bombers flying over is really good with birds singing in the background really brings it home.

Very evocative . Period recordings are clear and good considering some of the location situations.
