5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I just can't understand some of the previous reviews slating the sound quality of this remaster. I wonder how familiar the reviewers were with the U.S. mix of this album which did actually feature different guitar work (courtesy of John Sykes) and Neil Murray's bass playing (as opposed to Colin Hodgkinson on the UK version). Perhaps this is why they hear a different...

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning....this hurts!
Ok this is a really nicely packaged set,one cd with 20 tracks including the us mix and the english mix and to top it off a really cool dvd.
With beautiful artwork and a smashing booklet giving lots of information first impressions are very good....until you play the cd!
OUCH,this sounds,well in a word rubbish!
The remaster is absolutely terrible, way way to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Whitesnake - U.K. mix, 3 May 2008
This review is from: Slide It In (Audio CD)
Great Whitesnake album, stand out tracks for me are, Slide It In, Slow An' Easy, Guilty Of Love, this is the original U.K. mix that features Mell Galley and Micky Moody on guitar, it sounds like the classic Whitesnake rather that the Americanized Whitesnake of today

2.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, 9 Jun 2009
Dave Donelly's remastering is shrill, loud and compressed! A waste....

2nd star for the lavish packaging and liner notes.

the sound is ok
the package great
so....why these guys try to make 2 remaster albums in one cd?
the solution was 1cd uk and 2cd u.s version , with all the titles.
forget the videos,no one see them.
unforgible the 2 tracks missing from the uk version,by far the best with the blues rock feeling.
that's why 1 star for the bad move of emi.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh God!, 22 May 2012
This review is from: Slide It In (Audio CD)
Nearly 30 years on and middle age well onset I still have no clue as to why this album was made! Just a few years on from 'Ready and Willing' and 'Lovehunter' and all time classic appearences at Hammersmith (I was there) and Reading (sadly not!) and the mighty Whitesnake are reduced to this plodding tired mess with awful misjudged Zeppelinesque inclinations and lyrics so bad ('Slide It In' and 'Spit It Out') that Spinal Tap would have rejected them!! Even Viz magazine would have had second thoughts!!

Whitesnake were so very very much better than this - Purple reformed in all but name - they lost their soul when Bernie Marsden left.

One of the great rock tradgedies this fantastic band stooped so low as to record this mess! It hurts as much today as it did nearly 30 years ago! Save your money and look to the earlier albums!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost the perfect deluxe treatment., 9 July 2011
This review is from: Slide It In (25th Anniversary Expanded Edition) (Audio CD)
Most reviewers have rightly praised the great job that has been done for this package.
However there is one omission that is even worse than using the "Starkers in Tokyo" version of "Love Ain't no Stranger" instead of the UK version.
Namely, the omission of the Eddie Kramer produced single of "Guilty of Love" from 1983...how could this not be included in its original form as opposed to the Donnington/TOTP version?
Its still a superb package but the result is that most fans are going to find it extremely difficult to hear this '83 version of this song.
I'm just delighted that I found a mint 7" picture sleeve copy a few weeks ago at a record fair (50p !!) so together with the original UK release I have the complete 83-84 recordings for this great album .
