The hammer collection has no rival even after so many years.
These movies are so stylish and well made and excellent acting that i find it hard to watch any other horror movies.

A great compendium of classic Hammer horror films with great productions and good print quality. Always worth watching on a dark Saturday night with the curtains drawn! A must-see!

My son bought this in a retail shop paid more than I paid, then left it on the bus. But once he got this home has been watching it all the time.

Brilliant films. Not as scary as they iused to be but I am sharing them with teenage grandchildren now on rainy afternoons, and it's good fun.

Classic collection for the enthusiasts of Horror Films. Good actors and scenery. One can imagine itself inside the film living the situation.

The Nanny is a very strange and surprising film to have on here. It was written by Jimmy Sangster, but the directorial style is much more 'filmic' than the Hammer norm - more like that other 'can't get the staff' picture, The Servant. Aside from the upstairs-downstairs aspect though, and a totally fatuous digression about back street abortions, this is very much the sort of 'psycho killer' film that became popular in the late 80s - far ahead of its time in 1965. But classic Hammer Horror it is not.

Classic Hammer Horror means Peter Cushing & Christopher Lee; lurid technicolour; day-for-night shots in Epping Forest; brow-furrowing country innkeepers; terrified peasants who don't want no meddling city folks around; big wigs and big cleavage; and of course, James Bernard's over-the-top music which always seems to wake you up just when you were starting to enjoy things.

The other films represent all that reasonably well, without being by any means the best: Prince of Darkness okay (this is one of the films in which Dracula's lines were supposedly so bad that Christopher Lee refused to say them, making it into a non-speaking part); Quatermass okay sci-fi hokum (proto- Doctor Who, I suppose); Devil Rides Out pretty good except it's a bit po-faced; Frankenstein Created Woman inexplicable. Obviously the real 'best of Hammer horror' would have to include the original Dracula (the best of all, by far), the original Frankenstein, the original Mummy - right? Curse of the Werewolf, Hound of the Baskervilles, Devil Rides Out, Rasputin - or whatever - can fight for the last two slots.

A great Collection Of Horror Movies. These movies were the best I've ever seen. Although The Devil Rides Out which of course I've known about is a fantastic movie. Frankenstein Created Woman was a shocker to see. A girl who threw herself off the bridge into the see after her lover was chopped to bits after he was framed for murder. Victor Frankenstein created the same girl again. Quatermass & The Pitt was a great film starring Andrew Keir as Professor Quatermass after finding a misterious bomb in a Museum The bom somehow was a mutant which was sending out brainwashed signals and it moves objects in a familier way. The Nanny was a black and white movie which bought a mysterious lady who was looking after a family and of course the troubled son young Jimmy. He caused a lot of mischeivous tricks but he certainly knew the truth aout Nanny. The last movie of course was Dracula: Prince Of Darkness played by the great Chrisopher Lee (The Devil Rides Out). He certainly was a fantastic character in the movie. The profile of him in the speacial features is incredible. Even telling us about his movies. A great Boxset to watch again and again. Thank You very much Amazon.

The DVD product description is incorrect as Nanny is on the DVD but The Plague of the Zombies is not.
