4.0 out of 5 stars Pizza Stone
Excellent piece of cookware. Still experimenting with it but a couple ot tips, warm the stone first - so get a pizza paddle to put the pizza on it in the oven. Make sure you have a well floured pizza base as it sticks if you don't. Keep your pizza dry - don't get caried away with the fillings. But what a difference this stone makes. I'll never buy a take away pizza again...

2.0 out of 5 stars It broke!
Only used this twice and on the second time it broke in two. Followed all the instructions carefully so that wasn't the problem!

Make sure you warm the stone up at the same time you are warming the oven,
Makes a great job crisping the base.

The ProCook Pizza Stone 15in / 38cm is a big size, so you can make any size of pizza on it , it does what it says on the tin you will have a crisp base ,this is what i was looking for " a crisp base " Very pleased with this item and would recommend it.

This has seriously improved my pizze.
The only tricky part is getting the dough onto the (v hot) stone.
Hint: use polenta rather than flour under the topped pizza base so it slides more easily onto the stone.

It really works. I am making pizzas and breads and they are really crusty and tasty. Baked products tastes same as stone oven bakes...

5.0 out of 5 stars Crisp Authentic Base, 16 Dec 2010

If like me you enjoy making your own pizza bases and prefer the thin crisp base as found in pizzerias and don't have the room for a pizza oven then this is for you. Put the stone in a hot oven for 5 minutes to heat up then put your base on followed by the topping of your choice. The result is a light crisp base just how you wnat it. I now have 2 of these and have bought one for my wifes dad. These are 15" diameter so check your oven will be big enough.

I used a Jamie Oliver recipe for the dough. Heated the stone for 30mins in very hot oven. Pizzas cooked in 7 mins and very very crispy - best tasting pizzas I've ever managed to make at home. Yes the stone does have marks on it after initial use but they just add character. Great product as far as I'm concerned.
