I bought this for my Seven year old and it has been the most played with toy since Christmas, all the family have enjoyed recording our voices and mixing them into really funny tunes. Very easy to use and execllent value. Takes four AA's but batteries appear to last a reasonable amount of time.

Bought this for my son's 9th birthday and it is brilliant. Really easy to just pick up and start creating music. There are free online downloads too to keep things fresh and it is really easy to connect the machine to the PC to upload your tunes for sharing. I thought it might be a bit tinny and get annoying but the music that can be created is pretty sophisticated for a twenty something quid toy and the sound quality is great. Highly recommend for any child.

I bought this for my 6 year old daughter- she loved it.
It is good value for money.

Bought this for my grandson. He's delighted with it. He's into creating music and this machine really allows him to use his creative skills, even though he's only 8 years old.

The rating is because it is no longer usable.

I purchased this item recently for my daughter from a seller on Amazon. Whilst my daughter enjoys the item in question, it is no longer usable. To save tracks you need to log onto the Ucreate Music site and this has been discontinued, rendering the system pretty useless.

This is an email I received from Mattel.

"We're so glad you contacted us.

We understand you purchased the UCreate Music set. Unfortunately, this product was discontinued from our product line in 2010. This date has resulted in the online support and software also being discontinued in 2/28/2011. For this reason, the UCreate Music set is no longer usable. We recommend contacting the seller to set up a return. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause.

So whilst it may have been excellent in the past, it is now basically defunct.

This is a great little toy, but because most of the website has been mothballed, you cant do most of the things mentioned on the box.

bought this for my son as a xmas present, and he loves it think the different coloured lights are a big big plus too for an 8yr old it seems to keep him more occupied, he loves playing music and this is just a perfect gift to do this with,great price too from amazon.

This item was really hard to find. It is a great item, more than just a toy. I bought it for my 15 year old niece who is interested in dj-ing but my boyfriend played with it for over an hour whilst he was 'testing it'. Other dj equipment was really expensive so this item was very reasonably priced for what it can do. Can be used for basic, fun sound effects or it can be very advanced and it sounds amazing. Would recommend this item to anyone of any age who has an interest in music.

Bought this for my 8 year old son last Christmas and he said it was his "best present ever"! He couldn't put it down, he even took it to bed with him. It's provided so much entertainent, everyone in the family has had fun with it. A really worthwhile purchase, so glad we bought it.
