Samsung WMN1000B Ultra Slim Wall Mount

This wall mount is expensive for what you get in the box, but once it is up and you have your LED TV hanging up on it, it is just brilliant!

The kit is like a kind of very heavy duty picture wire attached to two connectors, which connect to the top two bracket holes in the back of the TV, which then enables the TV to be 'hung' (just like a picture) over two wall brackets (the kit comes complete with heavy duty attachments for both solid and hollow walls). There are also two 'spacers' for attaching to the bottom two bracket holes at the back of the TV - One of these has a folding 'foot' to allow the TV to be held away from the wall when you need to get access to the connections at the back of the TV, which is very handy.

There is just no slimmer TV bracket going, and because this is made by Samsung, you know it is purpose made and fully tested.

If you have bought a Samsung LED TV and want to wall mount it, definately put this hanging system to the top of your list (just as long as you don't want to have any tilt / swivel adjustments, that is).

This is very expensive for what it is. Basically, it comprises a short Kevlar "wire" attached to the TV which hangs on two fixings in the wall - very much like a picture frame hanger. It is not that easy to get the TV horizontal as the Kevlar wire cannot be moved over the hangers without lifting the TV unit. Also, the Kevlar wire tends to "hug" against the back of the TV making it impossible to get the Kevlar wire over the hangers. I ended up stuffing a folded up kitchen towel behind the wire so that it stayed away from the back of the TV. However, it is easy to lift the bottom of the TV away from the wall to insert memory sticks (with photos etc) but it does feel as if the TV might fall off the wall any minute - which it won't as you would have to lift it at least 10mm to clear the wall fixings.

If you really must have your telly as close to the wall as possible, this is the bracket for you. I would not buy it again though unless it was a similar price to other brackets. Also, I am not convinced it would be secure enough in a household with boisterous children as it would not take that much to dislodge the TV from its mounting.

Great piece of kit, but the picture is misleading. What you get is two disks that screw solidly into the wall (with lots of different fixings for all wall types), two disk spacers joined by a steel cable that screw into the top/back of the TV, and two spacers that screw into the bottom/back of the TV. The steel cable hangs the TV like a picture frame, and the cable snaps into the disks on the wall which act as the hook. One of the lower spacers has a wire attached to it that can rotate to hold the TV away from the wall while plugging in the cables. Useful! Nevertheless I'd probably go for the cheap version if I were to choose again.

This item is fine in principle, way overpriced and the official samsung version I fitted had a major design flaw.

IF YOU HAVE FITTED ONE OF THESE CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOU CANNOT LIFT THE CABLES OFF THE WALL DISCS, IF YOU CAN ITS NOT LATCHED IN CORRECTLY.

The good bits -
It does provide a very small projection from the wall and is strongly made.
The wall mounted support disks are very nicely finished off and would look lovely on your wall after the tv has been knocked off the mounts!

The bad bits.
1. There are very few written instructions only pictures which are not very detailed.
2. There are 3 instruction books for each of the model of tv but they're all the same apart from which spacer and bolt you need to fit to the back of the tv.
3. The solid wall oversized rawl type plugs supplied require a 9mm drill which is a size that is not included in 99% of the drill kits you can buy.
4. as there is only one bolt for each support if you hit a bit of loose wall you have to move both the brackets and you cant add aditional bolts to support the weight if your walls are weak.
5. The cable the tv hangs off is drawstring tight on the larger screen tv not a nice loop as shown on the diagram so is extreamly difficult to get hooked over the wall discs.
6. There is a floating clip disc on the wall plates that the cable is meant to clip into to stop the cable falling off the wall disc if the tv is knocked or lifted but this clip refused to clip over the wire after repeated attemps at different rotation angles of the clip. In the end I had to get above the tv and use a long thin screwdriver to lift the clip slightly so the cable slotted behind it. If this clip does not engage then the tv only has to be lifted about 10mm before the cable would fall off sending the tv heading for the floor.
7. It is very difficult to tell if the latch has engaged as it is hidden behind the tv and you have to get above the tv to look down the back which as the tvs are high on the wall normally its out with the ladder.
8. When the clips are eventually secured in place it is very difficult to remove the tv from the wall again.
9. The tv floats on the discs and it is hard to get it to settle horisonally and quite easy to knock it out of square again.

Give me a standard bolt on bracket any day.

And no - the one i fitted didnt fall off the wall but as the customer said to me, if he had fitted it he would not have thought to check the latch had engaged properly and there is no mention of this check in the instructions. His children have knocked it several times since which could easily have caused an expensive and dangerous accident.

Having purchased a 32 inch Samsung LED TV I was surprised that the instructions with the TV didn't provide information on the appropriate wall mount to be used. Checking Samsung's web site provided no information either. Checking the web generally also failed to provide any useful information. From the scant info available the WMN1000B appeared to be the right fitting although again there was no specific information I could find on what model or size Samsung TV the WMN1000B is designed for.

As I was keen to get the TV on the wall, the WMN1000B seemed to be the right fitting, I wanted to use a Sansung OEM fitting and as I could find no other wall mount recommended for a Samsung LED TV I ordered it. At £90 its not cheap but it was shipped and delivered quickly.

Once received I was disappointed to find that the box stated the mount was for 44 to 55 inch TV's. Whey couldn't this information be provided in the mounts online product information. To add to the confusion writing on the actual mount it's self said for use with 32 to 55 inch TV's?

However as soon as I tried the mount on the TV it was clearly to big for a 32 inch TV and I had to return it to Amazon. The returns process was easy to follow and my money refunded quickly. I subsequently bought a generic wall mount which had to be cut down to fit the TV but it did the job for half the price.

The WMN1000B is a well designed wall mount but at £90 for a bit of wire and a couple of hooks its very expensive and I can't help thinking Samsung are missing a trick here. If they provided better and precise information about the correct wall mount to use with their TV's they would probably sell a lot more of these highly priced items.

I was most impressed

This is an excellent way to hang a TV on a wall like a picture so it intrudes as little as possible into the room. However, it is expensive. Easy to fit as it comes with all permutations of fittings you could need but BEWARE don't believe the drill size they say - try with one at least two sizes smaller than specified and then you can increase the hole if needed. We fortunately had a bigger rawlplug in the house. An electrician who had put one up before said he had the same problem with the drill sizes.

Wow ! I have 46" Samsung Led tv and is now FLAT against wall thanks to this wall mount. Scary the first time you hang your tv like a painting on the two 'screws' using the 'wire' but the physics is still holding it there!!

I was a bit sceptical of this mount when I saw the price compared to other models available but I have to say it really is worth the money. It was very easy to put up, took 2 of us about 10 minutes. The instructions aren't the best but luckily it's fairly straight forward anyway. The mount adds virtually no depth to the screen, and the screen can be tilted forward to allow wires to be plugged into the TV.

The mount hangs your TV like a picture, I was a little wary of this at first but it seems rock solid and you have the advantage of being able to adjust the position of the TV (to straighten) easily like you would a picture.

It is well worth checking the contents of the box before you do anything though, unfortunately my box didn't include the anchors for mounting the TV on plasterboard walls. I have contacted Amazon and Samsung about this and hopefully it will be remedied by one or the other.

This TV is beautiful. It's not perfect. As others have said, the speakers are tinny and not up to much, but few TVs come with good speakers. And yes, I too had to fiddle a little to get the picture just right. But it's still beautiful and neither gripes justify losing a star. If you're picky about colour, the 7020 (this one) has a smokey grey to clear border surround and a white light, the 7000 has deep red to clear edge with a red light. I found the light distracting and switched it off.
