4.0 out of 5 stars The only Mk I live recording, 18 Oct 2011
This review is from: Live At Inglewood 1968 (Audio CD)
Well, this is just the only live in concert recording of Deep Purple Mk I. It's amazing to think that the band was merely 8 months old. Sound-wise is of course mid to low quality, but enough nevertheless to enjoy the show and to know who is playing what. Considering the comments on Rod Evans patchy live performances, this is more than enjoyable. And personaly, I prefer these 10 minutes versions of Wring that Wreck and Mandrake Root than the 30 minute versions of MkII.

SOUND QUALITY IS NOT GOOD, BUT THE PERFORMANCE IS ATMOSPHERIC AND FULL OF VIGOROUS STUFF. A MUST FOR PURPLE COMPLETISTS, AND LIVE RECORDING FANS - SHAME THERE WASNT A FILM OF THEIR FRILLY SHIRTS AND LATE 60'S STYLE. I LOVE THIS ALBUM. GOOD STUFF.
