I've always been a fan of Thin Lizzy, especially the 'classic line up' featuring Brian Robertson.
I knew he formed a band called Wild Horses but hadn't heard anything by them until I saw both
albums on amazon. I took a chance and ordered both and I'm so glad I did. They're a really good band
of great rock musicians. Jimmy Bain is a great bass player and decent vocalist and everyone knows how
good Robertson is. Add to that Neil carter (who played with UFO) and Clive Edwards (who had a spell with AC/DC)
and you have some band. The music in certain songs is inspired by Thin Lizzy but that's part of this bands appeal.
The production is 'of it's time' and sounds a little dated but the songs are great. Any fan of Thin Lizzy will love this
but even if you're not a fan it's still a really good album in it's own right. I can't stop playing both albums and they
sound better with each play.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long Lost Axe Hero, 5 Jan 2012
This review is from: The First Album (Audio CD)
As a huge Thin Lizzy fan and someone who recently purchased diamonds and dirt and Another Perfect Day I have always wanted to find as much of Brian Robertsons recorded work as I could as possibly through poor career choices or bad attitude leading to bad reputation I feel Robbo has not had the level of success his talent deserves. This album contains some tracks which rank up there with his finest Thin Lizzy moments noteably Blackmail,Flyaway and Dealer. If you like melodic guitar driven rock and are looking for an axe hero who has slipped under the radar this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Robbo was under-rated, 29 May 2011

This is a jolly little romp of an album. The harmonising guitars are there and some of Robbo's guitar play is reminiscent of his epic guitaring on 'Live and dangerous' with Lizzy.

Robbo was always my personal guitar-God for his cocky and ballsy swagger and his innate feel for bluesy hard-rock guitar.

Personal favourites : 'Reservation','Dealer', 'Criminal tendencies' and 'Face down'.

Highly recommended and I'm proud to share his nickname.

4.0 out of 5 stars lizzy man goes solo, 20 April 2011

This review is from: The First Album (Audio CD)
the debut album from wild horses is more melodic than thin lizzy but still has that lizzy feel too a lot of the songs some songs are more pop sounding but most have that rocking feel of robbo,s and jimmy bain,s old groups not surprizingly phil lynott and scott gorham of thin lizzy both help out with the song writing not a bad album at all.
