5.0 out of 5 stars Adds to the Original
Having seen the original many years ago, I'll admit that I got this for the original film and not for the extras. However, the new footage of the week after the decisive 2nd test is fascinating and really adds to the first film. The criticism of the forwards in particular from Jim Telfer is scathing and very interesting to see them rise to that in the 3rd test, even...

3.0 out of 5 stars Collector's Edition
Living with Lions Anniversary Collector's Edition [DVD] [2009]

Absolutely cracking entertainment, very, very funny and very, very interesting. The only problem is I can't really see how this is a collector's edition. The DVD is as basic as you can get, no extras, not even subtitles!

Having said that, I'm glad that I've got Living with Lions but I...

A fantastic account of the British Lions tour of South Africa.
The fly on the wall camera work rams home just how important coaches can be,
with Jim Telfer's direct style butting heads with Ian McGeeghan's more fatherly approach.
These two guy's are the reason the Lion's won this 1997 tour.
This is the best way to view rugby, from the inside.
An absolute must, not just for fans of rugby, but for anyone with an interest in sport.
I cannot rate this documentary high enough.

Disappointing .The title suggested it would be more of an 'in house'look at the tour but....the speeches are inspiring and the contributions of Jason Leonard and John Bentley, both on and off the field, are excellent but there is just too much focus on the peripherals.I really didn't want to see footage of the medic watching the game nor want to hear his or the physios opinions outside their remit and there was rather too much footage of Geech & Telfer as they watched the games.
Could have done with seeing more of the 'court' sessions and Tait & Bateman,2 underrated and underused players;plus,of course, more action.
