My four year old son absolutely loves this! There are lots of interesting bits and pieces stowed away to play with. All Playmobil is so well made it stands up to 4 year old boy games. It does come with very small accessories so don't buy it for a smaller child. Just one fireman with it, but if you've got the police car and ambulance (as he has) you can set up great emergency games.

My three year old son loves this! There are lots of interesting bits and pieces to play with and it keeps him occupied for ages packing and unpacking all the tools. He's had it now for three months and so far it has stood up well to being played with by him and his friends. The lights flash which made his friends jealous but there is no siren which made his friends parents jealous as their one did have an annoying siren. :)
Would advise assembling the night before so Dad can have some fun and impatience doesn't take over. Assembly isn't difficult but takes a while.
Will definitely invest in more Playmobile toys.

Bought this for my 2 yr old and 4 yr old to play with and am generally impressed. There are lots of accessories that the 4 yr old loves playing with - he loves using the petrol can to fill up and the click together hoses which he can assemble himself. The 2 yr old loves pushing it around, putting the man in and out and making the lights flash - so both boys are pleased. I have put a few of the smaller pieces away for the time being as they are not suitable for my 2 yr old but the quality of the item is such that I am sure it will last for many years to come, so I will be able to get these bits out at a later date. I am particularly pleased with the rubber wheels which seem really sturdy and of a good quality (some vehicles we have bought from other ranges - not playmobil - have plastic wheels which have broken with lots of play). On the negative side, there is only one firefighter but 2 seats in the fire engine and it takes a considerable time to construct - about 30 mins.

good solid fire engine toy with very bright flashing lights which look very realistic! Lots of bits to attach and detach and our boys of 4 and 6 enjoy playing with it. Wish it had en extendable ladder however!
Overall a great toy as you would expect form Playmobil!

Bought this for my son's 2nd birthday and he's nearly 5 now and has played with it every week since then! He absolutely loves all things to do with fires and firemen. His little brother also loves all the playmobil fire stuff. Quite expensive compared with some toys but very worth it because of how much use we've had out of it. The flashing lights are great and it is so like real fire engine. You can get lots more playmobil fire toys to go with it - the crane fire station, more firemen, hoses and fire station as well as fire helicopter, boat and fire car. Some bits can be a bit fiddly - like putting the visor back on the fireman's hat if it comes off but we've found that over the years this has really helped to develop my son's fine motor skills. He has had great fun making up rescue stories so it's also great for developing imagination. Definitely recommend for little boys!

I got this for my 4 year old grandson for Christmas. What a great purchase! It comes neatly packaged by the manufacturer (and a great simple shape for wrapping as a present). I was surprised to see how much assembly was needed-I thought it would be straight out of the box and play but that wasn't the case. Probably this is a way of keeping costs down-I got this at a great price of £30-and my partner quite enjoyed himself putting it together anyway! There are so many bits and bobs that come with this;cones, hose, fire extinguisher, foam hose dispenser, shovel, axes, brush, lots of things. My grandson has played hours and hours with this already, he absolutely loves it. There are other sets of playmobil which you can get to complement this, as we have done, eg. fire chief and car, but, even as a stand-alone item, this is a brilliant toy.

My 3 year old son was going through a fire engine crazy stage and bought this with money he was given at Christmas. For about a week he carried it around everywhere with him - but the novelty has worn off now. I like Playmobil as I think they are quality with staying power. This fire engine was a little tricky to construct - my 11 year old son managed most of it - and there are lots of little bits to keep track of. Most of ours are distributed around the house now. However, overall I think this is a quality toy - if a little pricey.

Playmobil is so durable, good value for money as contains so many pieces and joyous to receive as a gift because it is always a big box! We have an older version of fire engine and were worried in case it was the same but playmobil have changed the product over the years and it is really good with lots of compartments for all the accessories these days. Wish list: front doors that open as you have to put the firefighters in from the top. A bit fiddly to construct but enjoyable and looks great. Very robust. Hours of fun. Highly recommended.

A recent purchase for a chirstmas present for a 4.5 year old.

Opening: Lots and lots and lots of little pieces. The parts are bagged up in no particular order, so you'll be opening up lots of plastic bags looking for the parts required. Once together, not an issue, but allow an hour (more if a little one wants to help!) to assemble. Not actually a difficult job, but does take some time.

Loads of accessories. I see this as a good thing, but have a good box available if you want to keep this toy together. I imagine after some months we'll be finding fire engine components around the house on a regular basis.

A big positive: put in two batteries and the lights flash....but the siren does NOT sound. Saves a lot of annoyance compared to lesser fire engine toys we have.

It is BRILLIANT to here our girl play with this, acting out conversations between the firemen and creating her own scenarios....it feels like give the opportunity to do some fire engine role play has helped her play with greater maturity.

Beware the small parts, many swollowable by infants with ease.

You don't want to be fishing a tiny torch out of a nappy.
