5.0 out of 5 stars Simply stunning Plasma TV
I looked at a number of TV's in shops (most of which looked dreadful due to the poor quality of the lighting in the shop or perhaps the quality of the feed they were given to display) and read lots and lots of reviews before deciding to buy the Panasonic TX-P42S10B. I am so pleased that I did buy it, as the quality of the picture is breathtaking. Sound quality from the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Picture, shame about the durability
Having owned a Panasonic Viera 37" 720p Plama TV for nearly 4 years, when it came to upgrade I only really considered Panasonic. The picture quality so far has been great, however the durability of the finish is poor. Having two younng children scratches are to be expected, but the original 37" was nearly perfect after 4 years. This item has not been so withstanding, and...

Sound quality from the built in speakers is excellent, but for me a TV is all about the picture quality and everytime I look at it I am taken aback by the sheer brilliance of it.

Buy one. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this from a local store for a knock down price on a special offer. It is a brilliant television and of all the sets I researched, this one is packed with features and priced very reasonably.

It weighs 25kg which means its not a beast to mount on the wall. It has so many features: full HD, 2m:1 contrasts ratio, 400Hz picture, SD card port, 3 x HDMI, scart connectors, S-video, Divx/jpg/mpg playback.... and if you buy a Panasonic BD-player, you can control it from one remote!

Its finish is a stylish black front which can polish up to look irresistible. The stand which comes with it, while basic, is perfect for placing your TV on a cabinet or TV unit.

Highly recommended!!

Bought this to replace my Sharp Aquos 32" LCD and boy is it sooo much better. First off the picture quality is superb. HD is stunning whether it be HD TV, blu ray or my PS3, vibrant colour and sharp detail with no ghosting on quick movement like football etc. Normal SD looks superb also, there is no pixellation on lower quality channels and DVDs look gorgeous.

plenty of features so you can tweak this to your hearts content. lots of connectors, diagnostic port, security features (it can store your details in case the telly gets stolen).

very simple to setup and easy to use.

Not often I get excited about a TV, but this TV is GREAT !!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a belter!, 3 Feb 2010

Like so many Amazon customers, I browse for customer ratings on all of my purchases and then try to sort the wheat from the chaff! Without going into any technical detail (all of which is available in the spec) I would say that it is money well spent. I compared several TVs of similar spec in Curries etc and found that this model was as good, if not better, than all of them and at a very competitive price (from Amazon). It is visually appealing; the picture quality is excellent; ease of use is as easy or complex as you want to make it; Freeview works very well (even in my poor reception area) and BluRay is stunning. Sound quality is acceptable, but I got the Panasonic BluRay cinema kit which takes the experience to the next level. Well done Panasonic and Amazon!

this tv is just as good to play consoles on as an LCD but it looks better and the colours are just amazing! It also has a eco mode which reduces the brightness of the panel the darker the room around it gets, meaning it will reduce eye strain if you forget to turn a light on. I highly recommend this tv to anyone who wants to move up from a lcd tv, it is well worth the money, blows samsung 6 series out of the water. Standard definition also looks very good on it.

I've only had this TV for a few days and I have to say that so far it has been a joy to behold.

The picture is stunning and even the onboard sound system is perfectly acceptable. Watching programmes on SKY HD provides an unforgettable experience and I'm already finding it difficult not to switch off non-HD channels to go and find something in HD instead.

I also got a Panasonic BD60EB Blu-ray Disc Player player and the pictures from that are just breathtaking. The Viera link works perfectly well too. Goodbye life and hello lots of TV for the next few weeks.

Set-up could scarcely have been easier and if I had just one teensy-weensy complaint, it would be that whenever I start up the TV it goes straight to the analogue channel, instead of the one showing our Satellite channels. I daresay that can be sorted (once I read the manual properly) but for now it's a very minor irritant.

All in all, I couldn't be happier and can't wait to see what other joys will be unlocked as I learn even more about my new purchase.

After much debate between LCD and Plasma, I finally decided on the latter. I am very pleased with my decision, its a great TV, brilliant quality especially watching proper HD, lots of inputs and everything.

The only thing I would say is that I would have probably gone for a slightly smaller version, I measured up the TV and thought I knew what to expect but its a whole different ball game when it arrives and the picture is showing ... it is much bigger than you would expect.

Excellent buy, well worth it, fully recommended.
