5.0 out of 5 stars Michael Gianchino has done it again, 4 Mar. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
After going to see Ratatouille in the cinema, I loved the score and after purchasing the album, I LOVED it, Michael Gianchino has done it again. Despite me already being a fan of his works on "Up" and the "Mission Impossible Series", this was 10x better than I expected. The wonderful opening on "Le Festin" was magical and throughout the album, the score suits the fast paced movie perfectly with the slow romantic songs and the fast paced energetic songs. I definitely recommend this album to all fans of Ratatouille and Michael Gianchino. In my opinion, Gianchino's finest work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glorious, 25 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
OK; it's a sound track to a Disney Cartoon. - and an over stereotypical Disney view of the French too; accordions, berets and all . . . .

And like all movie sound tracks, most of it doesn't make a lot of sense without the film to go with it . . .

But . . . but ! . . . what ever it started out as; that first track by Camille (and that may be a made up name)

- is simply gorgeous . . . oh, I feel like the "Critique" guy in the film - allow me to gush a little;

This has got to be the ultimate way to get a garden barbi to liven up a little; shove this on - modestly - and pass round the veno; it's conviviality on a plate - er . . CD

That one track stands as a "gorgeous sound of summer" in it's own right . . .

Twee ? Disneyfied to the hilt ? - yes . . .

But if you have the capacity to let go of all that, and go with the flow; it's fun !

So it sort of parodies the film in real life; a glorious surprise really can come from anywhere, even a Disney sound track. Bon Appetit !
