4.0 out of 5 stars Vroom Vroom - Fuel Review.
One fine day my boyfriend and I were shopping and happened to drop into our local computer game store, we were not looking for any game in particular and happened to find Pure and Fuel on the shelves and decided to buy them both. As we had played the demo of Pure we decided to take a look at Fuel first, so when we got home we fired up the PS3 and inserted the disc...

Awful game, even when it first came out. There's absolutely no quality to this game whatsoever. It has ONE star because I couldn't review otherwise.

I think with a couple of game updates it could be a better game
IE points for coming in the first three
And own choice of vehicle for challenges,Other than that not a bad game

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money... bad graphics, bad physics, graphic not running smoothly, 20 July 2009

Disappointing game. Graphics have some nice light effects... that's all. Far away from PS3 standard. Boring gameplay (driving through the desert for 15 minutes...) All in all, not worth the money

2.0 out of 5 stars Why did the Devs release this rubbish??, 28 Jan. 2010

Well since I am a huge fan of racing games it's no surprise that I was looking forward to Fuel. Since it was promising the biggest map in a game ever and it delivers that!.. But absolutly nothing else. I had thought about preordering Furl so I could get it quickly but after I saw the reviews I was glad that I didn't all the critics seem to hate it and I know why.

This game does absolutly nothing right. Not even the map as there's so little to do in the game. Sure you could explore but do you really want to see dead trees and wasteland over and over again?. And that's not the only problem. The game has absolutly no voice acting or music, you can't even listen to your own off the Hard Drive!! (yet you cxan do that on games released last year?).
But I'm sure the races are fine as that's the whole point of the game... right? wrong!. The cars are ugly and the controls are terrible. You don't even need to use the brake to do a massive drift!. Not that you'll be doing much drifting as half the races are just driving in a straight line. You will however need to make sure you avoid obstacles because no matter how big your vehicle is you can always be stooped my something as small as a tiny tree!. And if you do hit something you wont see an incredible crash. Just a Fuel sign and a long loading time!!. And you can't even use boost/nitro to get there fatster as there just isn't any?.

So there's absolutly nothing good about this game except maybe that there is weather effects and aday/night cycle. You really should go buy Midnight Club LA or Burtnout Paradise.

2.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, 8 July 2009

FUEL IS NOT a real codemasters game as in "from the developers of DIRT/GRID". The developers are known for games like WALL-E and Ratatouille. FUEL is just one big mess. The driving feels like a game from the '90s with barely any physics. Soundtrack is even worse... instrumental rock from some amateur and they only manage a few songs that repeat over and over again. Graphics are OK, but nothing special. You have to unlock everything: Want a green car? go find the colour green in free roam. Three colors without unlocks, seriously? You have to win all the events on veteran diffuculty to get to the 6th area. Difficulty is all over the place. Having played most of the arcade racers this generation I have to say this is one of the worst. Motorstorm and Motorstorm 2 were ruined by trial and error gameplay with awful difficulty in the later stages of the game.

Buy something else unless this is really really cheap.

yet another game that forces you to use the R2 / L2 control for accelerate and brake . why no control change option ? it just has a patronising script saying that this is what you get , for people with a bad memory . avoid if you want to use the traditional cross and square !
