This really is an excellant compilation of the main pioneers of the new music made possible by the advances in recording techniques and electronic manipulation of sound. It is sometimes difficult to believe this was all recorded in the 1950's, the sound quality is great and it is easy to recognise direct references in much of todays more adventurous dance and electronic music.
Really good value for money both for quantity and quality, some of the best examples from the artists featured.
To obtain work by most of these artists you will have to pay much more than the price of this CD, for example, the pieces by Karlhienz Stockhausen featured here total more than the length of most of his CD's if you can manage to find them.
Highly reccomended particularly as an introduction to those who may not be aware that todays cutting edge music has it's origins as far back as these pieces which still sound exciting today.
