Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black

I bought a Kodak Z915 camera on July 1st, 2011, and it has not worked since January 2012. It has been to Germany for repair three times, and come back, still with the same fault (new batteries, will not turn on). Escalated to customer "service",...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black (Electronics)
This is everything I wanted in a point and shoot camera. It's an absolute gem. It feels very robust, a nice strong weight, not heavy just balanced. The 10 x optical zoom is great and the photo quality is simply superb. Its the sort of camera you'd take anywhere and use day in, day out. The whole family use the camera, from teenagers to my mum. I've not had it long, I no it has had a hard life so far but not a scratch or mark on it anywhere, thanks to the strong materials used in it's construction. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone who just wants a basic work horse camera.

This was a refurbished camera by the Kodak Factory. It could have been a new one as there isn't a mark on it and works perfectly. I wanted a small camera mainly for wildlife to save me carrying my bigger camera with all the lenses. It works a treat. The zoom lets me take things as close as a 300mm lens which I used most of the time. The pictures are clear even on a dull day. All in all a perfect small camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Camera!, 15 Oct 2010
This review is from: Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black (Electronics)
I recently bought the Kodak Z915 compact digital through Amazon and have found it an excellent purchase. It's my first foray into digital photography after years of 35mm and this is an excellent camera - not just a typical point and shoot model, it's a camera I can use on complete auto, or set my own aperture, shutter, focus, and other settings.

Its 10X optical zoom is first class and the on-line help and simple to use scene mode makes this camera stand out from the crowd.

I highly recommend this camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good all-rounder, 29 Sep 2010
This review is from: Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black (Electronics)
I wanted an inexpensive digital camera that wasn't the size of a credit card!! This camera has a load of functions, all useful, and with the optical and digital zoom I have been able to get some brilliant shots, both in the studio and on location. Simple software for downloading etc. I'm no camera buff, but I found this easy to use, and producing good quality images (for the price). Shop around, this baby can sell for double! Recommended for anyone who wants to take better quality snaps and a great stand-in before you go all the way and buy a digital SLR!!

I have been after a bridge style digital camera for ages and one that had 10x zoom, after a lot of reading reviews I decided to buy the Kodak Z915, it is really good and has lots of features and settings to try out. The camera does take a few seconds to come on and the really silly annoying thing is the tiny on/off button it is far to small and you need to press it quite hard, apart from that problem the camera operates well and the zoom is really good, except that again the control is a bit fidly to operate.
I looked at the Canon and other similar priced spec cameras and decided on the Kodak as have had Kodak cameras before and I suppose tend to stick with what you know, but I think will upgrade later to I higher spec bridge camera or DSLR, but give the Z915 a try and order one from Amazon.

Got this for birthday don't think I would have bought this one If I had been shopping (to much £), but with 10x zoom glass lens is first class. 10-15 digital is not so good but who needs it? The video 640x480 is good to. Batteries last well to.
Down side saves video to QuickTime format and haven't yet managed to get it to DVD format for TV.
One other thing I bought a lead for the TV, camera to 3 phono it gave very poor pic on TV, see what happens if you buy a clone lol.
Going to buy the proper lead from Kodak some time. One nice feature on the camera is panorama which will glue 3 side by side shots into 1 widescreen all by its self.
Over all I am very happy with the camera now I have it and this one is £50 cheaper that high street shops so very good buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars kodak easyshare Z915, 14 May 2012
This review is from: Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black (Electronics)
I bought this came camera nearly 2 years ago. i am now looking for a new camera as someone dropped mine and the zoom longer works and the camera refuses to take pics.

PROS: reasonably priced, sturdy build, took excellent pictures, having 10x zoom was fantastic
CONS: very poor playback sound on videos. i have a number of vidoes of people speaking where you can hardly hear anything.
If u want an easy to use camera and arent planning to shoot any video, then i would recommend this camera. If u r interested in recording any video, i cannot recommend this camera. As a result of this I am not going to purchase a Z9I5 again.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm no Daivd Bailey but . . . ., 10 May 2012
This review is from: Kodak EASYSHARE Z915 - Digital camera - compact - 10.0 Mpix - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SD, SDHC - black (Electronics)
I bought this camera last year and discovered a love for photography. It is a real pleasure to use. The camera is solid and well built. The controls are simple to use and the video is pretty good quality as well. The photos are HD, but the video is not. That said you'd struggle to notice the difference. I have taken wonderful pictures, including panoramic shots - 3 photos 'stiched' together side by side and find it is also very good for close-ups of flowers etc. Uploading to the computer is a cinch. In common with a lot of cameras it does save the video files with a .mov extension. However, you can load these directly to Youtube. Otherwise you need to convert to .avi or similar and there are lots of free software sites that allow you to do this. So impressed with this camera was I that last week when my cat knocked it off the shelf and broke it I was devastated. The zoom was broken. I'm told these things are not worth the expense of repairing, but I've managed to get a replacement (in red) on Ebay for less than £50.000. I am one happy bunny. The exact same one is selling on here for £338+. Now that I would not pay! If you're not a professional photographer, just someone who would like to take decent photographs easily, then I would give the Z915 10/10.
