Took delivery this morning(30/06/09)very large box but nice chaps from nightfrieght placed it right where I wanted it. Very easy to assemble the stand, and found that at 35kgs I could lift it on to the bench with no problems. The single sheet of glass on the front really does look very sleek , easy to connect up, switched on, and let it do its set up. The picture, even for SD broadcasts, is very good I imagine HD will be stunning, but, I didn't buy a large screen plasma for watching soaps, Oh No. Connected up my D.V.D player(a P.S 2 using SCART AV 1) and watched the first 15 minuets of STAR WARS 3 revenge of the sith and STEALTH as both these films have fast action sequences with plenty going on. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING even through lowly scart, there is NO judder, smearing, wishy washy gray-blacks, just smooth, sharp, uninterrupted, fast flowing action, the 600hz scan and the depth of colour from the twin XD engine is SUPERB you have to see it to believe it even in day-light. Normal sound from the invisible speakers is very clear and plenty loud enough for everyday watching. I have my dvd connected up to a Sony surround sound but will have to upgrade to an up-scaling dvd surround with hdmi pretty damn soon. All in all, for this money you CANNOT go wrong, well done LG.

Great TV - but broke after a fortnight,

Very happy with the television - a big step up from my previous CRT television. Great picture (deep blacks etc), powerful sound, strikingly big screen makes movies and games more impressive. Easy to use etc, and Freeview gave me a much better picture than my previous indoor arial - presumably because it's digital. However, after a fortnight, feel asleep watching it and when I woke up there was no picture and it was making a strange sound. I eventually realised the screen had cracked (the window reflection had hidden it). I'm presently in touch with LG about it, who are ordering a new screen to replace it (rather than just giving me a new TV). So a little bit more cautious about LG - I don't know if this is a very rare one-off (would I have done a review if it hadn't broken?).

This LG Plasma TV was top of the list for me for a couple of different reasons, one was becuase the features were fine for what I needed and 2 because the price from Amazon was cheaper than anywhere else.Easy to set up, just make sure everything is connected before you switch on and then the TV will do mostly everything by its self. Easy to navigate around once its running, the TV picture is great when you run it on a DVD of Sky, Freeview can look a little susspect but that is just Freeview and not the telly. It looks great, the swivel base it quite handy. 2 reasons why I did give it full 5 stars, one is because on the scart channel that Sky is plugged into, if the Sky is not switched on it makes a very high pitched tone and its quite loud, but as soon as Sky is turned on it goes away, and 2 is that the USB menu is not that great, the menu is a bit of a pain in the backside, it seems the TV only likes a list of the Music or Pictures and not inside folders, if its easy for the tv to access it plays ball quite well Overall I would not pass this product by and Im very glad of the purchase and would purchase aagin.

Bought this for my parents and could not have chosen a better TV for them. Easy to use and setup. Picture quality is very good. Input selection is good. Now just have to upgrade them to HD devices.

OK - if you're anything like me, you've uhmed and arghed over which plasma to spend your money on - should you even buy and Plasma? What about LCD?You get the idea - the point being I'm here to tell you at some point you have to just bite the bullet and buy your new set - when that time comes I think you'd do well to buy this TV set... here's why. I've had it about 2 months now and it's awesome. For the money it offers excellent value. Although one of the older models it actually looks nicer (in my own opinion anyway) than the newer LG models. And here's a bit of inside advice from my mates at Richer Sounds. When I bought mine they advised me to go with this set - as for the budget it was the best option. Plasma is better than LCD as it produces a better quality terrestrial TV picture on it than LCD (and I expect you'll spend more time watching TV than DVDs) and out of the other LG models, this had the better components in it. Apparently this model is at the top end of the PQ range as so has all the top quality componenets in it, and the next model up from this, is at the bottom of the PS or PK range (I forget the correct letters of the range but anyway there's another newer LG model that's 50'' and the same price too), as it's the 1st rung on a new ladder or model range - if that makes sense - anyway that other range is full of components that aren't as good. I hope I made myself clear there: the 2 sets are at the start and stop of 2 sliding scales, which means unless you're willing to shell out a lot more money, this TV is the best value for money and the best picture for money you're gonna get. I love mine - you'll love yours too I'm sure. If this review was helpful at all please let me know by giving it the thumbs up! Thanks

ok tv just arrived but its well worth the money makes my 32" look weak!.Great design looks amazing when wall mounted, picture qaulity better than many other higher priced plasma`s i would also reccomend the brackets that amazon do very good quality/strong you could hang a car of these i also rang up and registered the tv warranty and got 5 years extra cover for £270...yes sounds a lot but its over 10 months and covers breakdown , parts, even accidental damage if the tv does break then it will be replaced ammediatley with a new one this is a great plasma way better than my lcd tv

I bought the lG 50PQ6000 three weeks ago from amazon and I am still fascinated with the product. I could not believe having such a powerful and great TV at such a good price. With the numerous features offered and the super quality of image, I would definitely recommend the 50 inches LG TV.I have two LCD in my home, The first one I bought in a high street well known shop and then the second one from amazon. They both play well but the only difference is that I saved atleast £200 from the one I bought on amazon LG 50PQ6000 is a reliable TV and Amazon is the place to buy it. WELL DONE!

Great for the money.Nice to look at,sleek glass front gives clean lines and plenty of ports.USB works with divx avi and mpeg files. But as with most big tvs (plasma or lcd) quality depends on what format the programme was originaly filmed in.35mm HD and DVD are brill, but video leaves a lot to be desired with lots of ghosting and poor blacks so if you watch alot of old reruns stick to a crt tv.For a resonably priced movie expierience this is your boy
