LG 26LH2000 26" LCD TV,
This review is from: LG 26LH2000 26-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview - Black (Electronics)
I bought this as an upgrade replacement for an existing 19" TV in my dining room. This 26" LCD TV from LG is fantastic value for money. It has all the features you would only expect to find on a TV twice the price. Build quality and finish is excellent. The picture is crystal clear and colours are very sharp. The audio is great, lots of volume available and the tone is a lot better than on some tv's. Its got all the sockets you'll ever need, 2 HDMI and 2 Scart and VGA for connecting a PC or laptop amongst others. The supplied stand is very sturdy and safe. The Menu system is fairly straightforward with a little practice. The factory default settings are more than ample for home viewing, but by going into the menu a little deeper the user can setup every technical aspect of picture and audio parameters. The remote control is simple to use with the key functions laid out in an orderly manner. The only cable you get with this TV is the power lead. The only reason I did not give this a full 5 stars is because the printed user manual is only a few pages long and 90% of it refers to fitting stands or wall brackets covering different models. There is a full user manual provided on a PC CD-ROM in pdf format. Shame then for anyone who does not have a PC. Overall though, I am delighted with the TV and all its features. I would definitely recommend this to anyone....Buy it now! Delivery was super fast and painless. Packaging in tact and no damage..Great! Thanks Amazon.

There are 26 inch TVs with better pictures but not below £300. The sound is far better than the equivalent Samsung, which I consider to be the closest rival, and in my opinion the picture is better too! Setting it up was easy and the menus are totally intuitive. A great TV!

This TV is Fab!!! Picture quality clear & perfect for me, and the sound is excellent.
I found it easy to set up without even looking at the CD-rom provided. The instruction booklet could be more helpful but never the less once you press the menu button on the remote its easy enough to understand for most people so no worries if you dont have a PC for the CD-rom provided. Once all is plugged in correctly all you need to do is press menu, then settings and then auto-tuning and just wait whilst it tunes and then all is done and ready to use! Any other features it has you can just easily learn as you go along by pressing all the buttons on the remote to see what they do and you soon get the hang of it. This TV is very user friendly and excellent quality. Also it has a switch just behind the stand-by-light at back of TV so you can switch the stand-by-light off completely when TV not in use which means its not using your electricity and better for the planet and if your away on holiday much safer to leave stand-by-light OFF.

After reading reviews of as many 26-inch and 32-inch models as I could find, I settled on this in preference to others from Samsung, Panasonic and Sony. Why? Because reviews suggested picture quality was more 'natural' than Panasonic, sound better than Samsung, reliability better than Sony. With 2 Scarts (as well as 2 HDMI), it also promised better connectivity with existing DVD recorder etc.
My son and I are pretty critical consumers, but we are not disappointed. The picture quality is stunning; it does a very good job of upscaling SD Freeview to digital quality - to the point where I could wish not to have revealed the appalling quality of some British teeth! Sound quality for tv and movies in a small living room is fine - don't know what some folk are complaining about. The only area of disappointment is that it could not pick up any more Freeview channels than my Sony DVD recorder - but this is from an admittedly dodgy secondary antenna so we had no right to hope for better. This is a reassuringly quality piece of kit that does (almost) all anybody could reasonably expect of a 26-inch tv. The fact that it is the cheapest of those I compared is just icing on a very palatable cake. But why, oh why is the USB slot only for system updates rather than for input of movies etc?? This is an excellent tv, but with that facility too it would have been über-excellent!!!

The 26" is good,

I first tried a 32" Toshiba for my (smallish) lounge but felt it overwhelmed the room so decided to get a 26". I looked at all the reviews and sought out the best price and finally ordered the LG 26LH2000 via Amazon and am very happy with it. The picture is clear, the sound is good, it has an on/off button (yeh!)so it's perfectly good for everyday viewing (I think people get too hung up on perfection!). The remote control is ok - although I only use it for the sound and turning over to AV for CD's/DVD's - and it was really easy to set up; I only really looked at the instructions to make sure I got all the leads connected properly.
All in all a perfectly good TV!

I bought this TV recently after researching heavily all similar TV's and reviews and came to the conclusion that on paper this was the best for the money.
I haven't been disappointed. Delivery by Amazon was excellent as usual and the TV was simple to set up. I have made adjustments to the picture to suit my taste and room eg colour, brightness and contrast and am very pleased with everything. No criticisms at all really. Manual is on a CD and the paper one only really deals with fixing the stand. Can only recommend it

I bought this as a thank-you present for my sister for helping look after our children.
My sister is not particulalry technical, but she pretty much just plugged it in and it worked first time. I did a lot of research into TVs in this price/size bracket, and from what I can gather this works very, very well and I am glad that I chose it.

I did a fair bit of looking around before settling on this particular model. My instinct was to go with a Samsung tv in the beginning but after digging around a little I found that the LG models were slightly better in the same price range. I must say I am very satisfied with my purchase. It looks very nice and sleek and the picture quality is top notch.
A word of warning, do not expect deep sound from the set. But for a TV this size and as thin as it is the sound is quite adequate. All in all very good value for money. |
