5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent quailty LCD TV at a bargain price.
Of all the smaller screen LCD TV's the LG 22LH2000 is an absolute gem. Due to its impressive 8000:1 contrast ratio the picture is clean and crisp and bright, and even viewing in regular standard definition the picture is very good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great spec for a small screen television!
I brought this tv for my halls at University and i must say this TV has shocked me with the features it offers. Working with Home Entertainment in my past career, I have never seen a small screen TV that is likely to have great sound as well as multiple input connections such as a USB.
I was originally looking into buying the Samsung LE22B450 but realised that...

Of all the smaller screen LCD TV's the LG 22LH2000 is an absolute gem. Due to its impressive 8000:1 contrast ratio the picture is clean and crisp and bright, and even viewing in regular standard definition the picture is very good.
A common complaint about smaller screen LCD's is the poor quality or tinny sound, and while the LG 22LH2000 does sound a bit weedy if left on its default settings if you go into the sound menu and turn on the SRS TruSurround and turn the bass up to 80 the sound is incredibly good for a small TV.
As a side note, the images shown in the Amazon photos are not the UK spec 22LH2000. The version sold in the UK is slightly different in that the power, volume control and channel buttons are located just behind the the top right of the screen and not on the bottom right hand side as pictured in the photo's.
At the price Amazon are selling at this TV is an absolute steal and a hundred quid cheaper than on the high street.

If you're a Sky user the Sky remote control code for this TV is '1293', though this TV only works with 'Rev 8' Sky Remote controls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Tv for under 200 quid, 14 Oct 2009
This review is from: LG 22LH2000 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview - Black (Electronics)
i cant believe some of the other reviews for this tv, the sound quality is fine, if you want cinema surround sound you're going to need an external amp, thats the same with bigger tv's that cost 3x the price.

i got this as a bedroom tv for my mum, its very easy to use, has analogue and digital tuners, hdmi/scart inputs (which i dont think she will use).

the analogue tuner is handy (even though terrestrial is being turned off) if you want to watch Sky over the RF connection (using a magiceye) the TV's sky remote code is 0206 , this took a while to figure out (must have tried about 50 codes) but now i can control the tv (and the volume) using the sky remote.

another review says that you cant use the rf connection (ant/aerial) to plug in vcr's and similar devices, this isnt true. you just have to set it to the right mode (I), it picks up the picture using "BG" but theres no sound untill its switched to the right Pal mode (pal I).

i tried it out with my ps3 and bluray playback looks fine, its possible to zoom the picture in and alter the aspect ratio, so you can crop the black bars from some movies and make the most of the small screen size.

overall a decent tv and a good upgrade from a 15inch crt.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great TV! Superbly delivered, 15 Oct 2009

Just got this TV today, and it looks and works great! Freeview worked better than I expected and all the installation and setting up was so easy (even my grandma could have figured it out on her own!). I decided to buy it after looking at alot of positive ratings for this product! All I have to say is that its extremely worth its money, and is such a beautiful TV! Delivery was remarkable also, since it arrived in less than 2days (with Amazon prime one day delivery).

It also comes with the standard 12month warranty (amazon fail to mention that) and LG also give you the option to buy extended warranties (as do amazon). I have to say that some reviews have been really harsh on the sound, which I think is great (surround) and also the size, I bought mine for the living room and I have to say it doesn't feel too small...all in all, great buy, no negative feedback at all.

After having a my first 22" touch screen Samsung TV, which i had to send back faulty. I was not amused, not had alot of luck with TV's this past year, yet this TV has exceded my expectations.
After firstly being the cheapest 22" LCD (decent brand) with built in freeview, it seemed a reasonable TV, and fitted the spec that I asked for, and I have well and truely been taken a back by this.
This is nothing to compare, blows Samsung straight out of the water!
The picture quality is superb as is the sound, has the right amount of connectors, and connecting it to my apple mac to use to edit video footage is excellent.
Delivered promptly and exactly to description.
Great looking TV as well.
VERY Happy!
Have recomended this to a friend.
An excellent first TV to have as well!!!
5*****.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great spec for a small screen television!, 20 Aug 2009

I brought this tv for my halls at University and i must say this TV has shocked me with the features it offers. Working with Home Entertainment in my past career, I have never seen a small screen TV that is likely to have great sound as well as multiple input connections such as a USB.
I was originally looking into buying the Samsung LE22B450 but realised that although the TV is a good brand, its not worth the spend as Samsung as a manufacturer do not make enhanced small screen tv's and it is pretty standard and they tend to focus on enhancing large screen tv's especially because they make more profit margin of those sort of items. If you want more for in a TV, e.g. more picture, BETTER SOUND, more inputs as well as a USB, then you need to consider the next top brand which is LG as they tend to input the best features into all Tv's including small screen TV's.

I usually buy Samsung's, but after conducting my research, I found this TV to demonstrate why it is worth the spend. Although the contrast ratio is dynamic on this model, it doesn't really matter as you are not expected to receive an active ratio on small screen tv's up to 22 inches anyway. Some models do infact like the old discontinued Samsung small screen tv's that go up to 8,000:1. But dynamic shouldn't bother anybody. Also if you are somebody who solely want's a good small screen tv because you want good sound then I can honestly tell you, this TV is for you. You will not find any other LG or Samsung small screen tv in the market today to give you sound that you would expect to get from a large screen tv. Also my research showed that LG focus on providing the best freeview digital response ever, meaning you will see that they can give you the best reception as well as other features like a TV guide with the freeview. My research was right as LG do indeed have the best free view response because they continuously focus on developing their integrated free view features in their TV's and i don't think Samsung or other companies can beat that. If you want to go uni as well and want channels as well as an extensive TV guide to tell you want programs are on when (bit like the Sky TV guide), then this TV is for you or any other LG Tv really!

What I didn't like about this tv are two basic things. The fact that the USB input does not recongise all format drives and the fact that the left, right, up and down button on the remote control is quite hard to press. But with regards to the USB area, I didn't expect a small screen tv to have USB connections so i wouldn't bother with the fact that it cannot recongise so much as the TV's sole reason for buying is to watch tv. Furthermore, large screen tv's that have USB connections rarely have USB connections that can recongise all formats anyway which is why most people buy home cinema systems that have USB connection(s) to plug their iPod in or whatever it is they have to view content such as music, photos or movies.

Pros:

- Picture quality is fabulous
- Sound is amazing (it goes up to 100 instead of the standard 30-50)
- The Tv has built in true surround sound
- You can adjust the screen to view in different modes, e.g. gaming mode, cinema mode, music mode etc.
- The frame around the screen panel is thinner in its width, meaning you got more screen panel to view (most tv's give you a massive frame so you only get less viewing provided on the screen).

Cons:
- Up, down, left, right button is a bit hard on the remote control to press and needs a bit of force.
- USB connection doesn't recongise all formats
- If you have a device such as a VCR, Games Console etc and want to connect it to the TV via the Ariel input and not the Scart, HDMI or Component then it won't recongise as the Ariel input has only been designed for you to connect an Ariel in so it can pick up channels better. (Shame really as you may have adapters or something with different devices connected and all feeded through an Ariel connection but it wont recongise).

The Cons listed is perhaps the only reason why I had to give this TV a 3 star. They are not essential or critical problems as my main factors of having a good TV are listed in the Pro's and in this case it has met all the essential criteria you need for a good TV.

Hope this review helps! I thought I write it as I know this model sells a lot on Amazon and no body has written anything! I know i would like to read reviews on products I would like to buy, so I am sure you would if you are interested in buying something but there are no reviews...

I bought this TV for an early christmas present, it was really quick to set up, and the freeview channels this TV can pick up is great. It gets all the channels the best set top box on the market can get. The picture is great and with all the different modes (cinema, sport and game) this TV is perfect for any small to medium room. I also run my xbox through this and i think it is well worth purchasing a HDMI cable as this will boost the quality of the games from 480p to 720p which is obviously an advantage. With the surround sound function thrown in this really does have good sound output. The Tv function are very easy to use and very effective.
I would advise anyone who wants to play there xbox or PS3 in HD in there bedroom to buy this TV as the picture and sound quality is awesome, and for this price it really cant be beaten.

5.0 out of 5 stars LG - Brilliant TV, 18 Sep 2009
This review is from: LG 22LH2000 22-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview - Black (Electronics)
TV has a brilliant picture, excellent sound (especially with clear voice on), probably not ideal for a living room but bedroom or similar works great.
Nice graphical menus, easy to use.

Overall I am pleased with it, as I only buy high quality TV's. (you use them every day don't you).

Ordered this on Saturday, and received it on the Monday (2 days) and that was using Super Saver - that's what I call service.
As to the set - so easy to set up using the on-screen display which comes on after applying the mains power. It automatically scans for analogue and digital signals and when complete it shows on the screen how many Digital, Analogue and Radio Channels that have been stored.
The remote is very user friendly for selecting programs from a list.
However, previous reviews have said about using USB input, but I found that this did not work and even the support literature states that it is not a function on this model. It is only for "Engineers use" (unless someone can tell me how to overcome this).
The code that I used for the Sky Remote control handset was "1206".
I just hope that this set lasts longer than the Maxim 26" set that I purchased 20 months ago.
