4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not his greatest
I do agree that this is probably just filler material until his next release but you have to still give him a hand...the work that has gone into this isn't as full on as the likes of detra, my downfall or even pom poms.

He does however still produce the greatest filthy bass lines and drum riffs and his programming and producing is legendary.

There is...

2.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat Pointless
Venetian Snares' latest from the breakcore production line is rather garish and actually not all that great. Filth finds pleasure in pure dirty techno and the name alone should give you an idea of what to expect. He's been on a bit of a winning streak in the past few years, Detrimentalist from 2008 was a spell-binding release and Filth is somewhat of a duff album of...

There is not as much depth to this album as there is in detrimentalist. This is more a 2nd part to say...winnipeg.

Not in context but in style...very hard lashing beats...if your a fan of winnipeg then you will love this...I do.

Couple of duff tunes on there like yoghurt truck...and labia.

Best on the album are deep dicking and Kimberly Clark by far...

Good but not great...still worth buying though if you want to visit your filthy side

Venetian Snares' latest from the breakcore production line is rather garish and actually not all that great. Filth finds pleasure in pure dirty techno and the name alone should give you an idea of what to expect. He's been on a bit of a winning streak in the past few years, Detrimentalist from 2008 was a spell-binding release and Filth is somewhat of a duff album of unnecessarily caustic porntronica.
Considering the sheer volume of work he puts out this is once again a demonstration of the typical creative lull that affects his constant stream of albums every so often. There are no new tricks, it's not particularly fun and overall Filth is just another showcase of filler material that marks the gap between one stunning LP and the next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated, 13 Jan 2011
This review is from: Filth (Audio CD)
This album is brutal, great fun.

You can guess how it sounds if you know Venetian Snares music. Heavy scattery drums mixed with hopelessly spazzy and downright FILTHy synths and samples.

I guess people mark this album down because they can't handle its raw brutality - just look at the track names and cover if that wasn't enough of a clue!

If you are looking for ambient/classical V.Snares, look elsewhere.
If you want a great fun, heavy, dirty or even FILTHy record, listen to this!
