This is a slightly strange set. In conception a bit like Gavin Bryers Sinking of the Titanic in that you find famialiar melodies floating in and out of focus. However, unlike Bryers this does not have a grander vision and is better for it - here we have two musicians playing some well remembered tunes but giving us the pleasure of re-discovering the melodies through a different sensibiity. I really enjoy this, and sinking into a wing chair, this is the perfect complement - it takes you to a place both familiar and intriguing.
