This toy is a great idea and very clever the way it works particularly when you're drawing tracks for the car to follow however in practice it doesn't quite live up to expectations. To draw the track you have to press fairly heavily with the roller or keep rolling back and forwards to create the track, something that would be difficult for a small child. However using the pen on the mat is fine and the advantage of course is that it's neat and tidy and eliminates the possiblity of the child taking the pen and drawing on walls or soft furnishings. When the mat dries out all the drawing is erased ready to start again. It's very portable and you don't mind taking it to other peoples houses as the child can't cause any damage.
