5.0 out of 5 stars Therapy?
If any New Wave could be therapeutic, here it is. This is a an absolutely glorious soaring collection of non-hits (that should have been, of course) which benefit from their innocent and wonderfully naive production. Just let yourself be transported back to a late 70s small record label sound, turn the volume up, have a few jars and you'll see what I mean. You'll be hooked first time. Promise. It'll uplift you time and time again !

4.0 out of 5 stars Great wee collecton, 11 July 2011
For fans of Northern Ireland punk, this collection is hard to beat. Everyone has heard of The Undertones and Stiff Little Fingers, but this isn't about them. This gives a sample of all the other important bands who were helping create the scene at the time.

This review is from: Good Vibrations: The Punk Singles Collection (MP3 Download)
If you've seen Good Vibrations the movie and liked it why not download this it's the best of the bands from the label that were not The Undertones - I loved later bands from Norn Iron who this influenced as opposed to those across the province who grew up influenced by country and Irish and show and the dross who perpetuate the slaughter of music across Ireland to this day. An essential buy if you want to hear what influenced Therapy? and other less anarcho & crust punk bands which seemed to flourish in the province.

A great wee collection of a fine label, one note though, on my copy the Undertones track is actually Emergency Cases not Smarter Than U!!! (despite what it says on the CD and booklet!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Which one is your glass eye anyway, Terry?, 22 Jan 2006

(REAL NAME)
Ah, memories of the Harp Bar, Terry's reggae disco and meeting Jake Burns for the first time in the Crown. The punk music of Norn Iron was by far some of the best, the times it grew up in meant that the bands put more effort and themselves into the music (how else could Alternative Ulster have contained so much genuine anger). But it never got the large scale release it deserved (except SLF and the 'tones of course). The A&R guys must have been scared.
Now, the wider world has the chance to finally hear what we knew and loved in those good old, bad old times - this is by far and away the best of the plethora of Punk single compilations flying about these days. You never heard of some of the other GB bands or singles at the time because they weren't any good, you never heard of these because they never escaped across the Irish Sea.
