5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet and tidy unit
Excellent product that is quiet, seems to be well built and easily does all that I require of it. Happily powers a quad core, 2 x optical drives, 2 x graphic cards and 3 x hard drives with no problem at all.

The modular design means that only the cables required need to be used, which considerably reduces the clutter of wiring that can impede access and airflow...

3.0 out of 5 stars Short 4/8 pin CPU power leads
This is a good quality PSU but its let down by the very short CPU power leads. The short leads cause a few problems with large cases that bottom mount the PSU, fitting them into my Antec 1200 case was a nightmare and resulted in very ugly cable management.

The rest of the PSU and its modular leads where fine though. The main 20+4 pin lead and the CPU 4/8 pin...

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet and tidy unit, 5 Oct 2011
Excellent product that is quiet, seems to be well built and easily does all that I require of it. Happily powers a quad core, 2 x optical drives, 2 x graphic cards and 3 x hard drives with no problem at all.

The modular design means that only the cables required need to be used, which considerably reduces the clutter of wiring that can impede access and airflow in the case. The cables are a tad on the thick side but that gives good protection and did not cause any problems with my installation which was extremely easy, even the screws are provided in case you require them. The product is well packaged and a neat touch is the provision of a handy zipper case to keep all the unused cables together.

The unit is very quiet indeed in use and is a considerable improvement over my non too shabby previous power supply unit.

To digress slightly, this is my second unit. The first one to be delivered was thrown over our 6' garden fence gate on to the concrete path by the delivery agent whilst we were out. Seeing a very crumpled box that had also suffered a rain shower on the path on our return was a depressing sight indeed. Despite the very good packaging by Amazon & OCZ the unit had not survived the delivery experience.

Amazon to the rescue though, and it had a replacement unit to me, within 2 days of my reporting the sorry tale, which was delivered in much happier circumstances and, as told above, the unit is happily installed. Full marks to Amazon & OCZ; nul points to the first delivery agent.

To sum up, this is a quiet, well built and very easy to install unit. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars OCZ 600W ModXStream Pro Power Supply, 29 Mar 2010

Easy to fit with good options for cables with the modular system. Looks to be solidly built - only time will tell. Functioning well in my system - quiet and effective.

Update: 17th December 2012
This power supply is still working very effectively and quietly (just over two years and 8 months on). I am seriously thinking of getting another to build my next system - I use the other one most days for around 12 hours a day. I think that's a pretty good reason for getting another!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well with a shuttle PC!, 19 Oct 2011
I have this sitting on top of the case of a shuttle pc and because it is outside the case I can never really here the fan and never gets that hot, it is very silent. The ability to choose what power leads you need for the drives/cards you have is also very useful meaning you don't need to tidy any unused cabling. The cabling provided was long enough to feed in through the back of the casing.

The efficiency of this power supply also swayed me to purchasing this one. To get a shuttle sized PSU with the same efficiency and at a 100W less it would of cost me double. With no power supply inside my case it is also running slightly cooler. If the lengthy MTBF is true then I'll be definitely using it when I come to upgrade. If you plan to put a single graphics card then getting a 600W PSU is a good compromise. 500W with high efficiency would also be cutting it close to alot of cards power requirements.

Cheapy power supplies are a definite thing of the past for me because you will only be spending the same amount of money on numerous replacements years down the line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, 4 Oct 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Read plenty of reviews before buying this.

I am happy with it, seems like good quality build. Not had any issues with the power supply over the last fortnight of use. fairly quiet. The fan stays on for 30s after powerdown to cool it down.

The red glow is not too bright, looks nice.

The modular systems works fine, am actually using mainly older power cables from a previous OCZ supply I had so not used the new 'flat' cables it came with - but they look nice and there are plenty supplied in a handy zipped bag.

Not much else to say about a PSU really ;-)

3.0 out of 5 stars Short 4/8 pin CPU power leads, 29 May 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)

The main 20+4 pin lead and the CPU 4/8 pin leads are not modular and are fixed into the case, everything else is modular and optional.

It comes with,

2x SATA power, three connectors on each cable.

2x 4 pin MOLEX, two connectors on each cable.

2x PCI-E power cable (one lead is a 6+2 with the extra pins being breakaway allowing easy fitting into a 6 pin PCI-E slot).

This PSU has enough oomph to run at least a single GTX 560ti but I doubt it would run two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable, 8 May 2012

I've owned this PSU for over 4 years now, previous to this I went through a chain of unreliable cheap power supplies from little known brands. I'm very glad I spent out.

After 4 years of 24 hour use and only minor downtime, this power supply is still going stronger than ever. My system has just been upgraded with the latest i7-3770k, 560Ti and now has a total of 5 HDDs. This faithful PSU puts out a total of 280 watts on average, and far less when idling. All connectors are still standard, the fan is still quiet and not once have I questioned it's stability.

Buy with faith.

5.0 out of 5 stars OCZ Fatal1ty PSU, 4 Nov 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As others have said, this is a very good quality PSU. The fan is very quiet, and I like the overrun feature, to keep the PSU cooling down after shutdown(and possibly help the Motherboard too). The modular cabling is very good. Be aware that the CD and other 5/12V power connectors are very tight to push on (may need pliers to make them fully insert/mate).

5.0 out of 5 stars just what i needed..., 3 Sep 2012

Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
it has turned up in just 2 days from ordering it, I've just installed it and it seems quiet and well made. I was using a 700W CIT psu, thinking this would be enough to run my system (ohh how i was wrong) my PC crashed and went crazy with issues, this psu is a lower wattage but seems much better quality & actually seems capable of outputting what it is stated to do.

My system is an Intel Q6600
4Gb ram
1 TB hard drive
AMD HD6750 1Gb ddr 5

Runs it fine :)

the wires on the psu are a little short but it easily fits in my case (i'd say it's an average size case) I'd only saqy worry if your case is absolutely massive compared to everyone else you know, and on a plus side of the short-ish cables and it being modulated... Inside my PC has never looks so clean and free for air flow

very very happy with a well built, quite & effective psu
:)

Good Psu so far, it's very silence and does the job. I will recommend that to people who got a middle tower because the cables are not that long
