It astounded me that there were so many other great songs on this album, apart from all of their hits.

I am a die hard sam and dave fan - and always have been. This is a brilliant compilation. I can't imagine not being part of the stax revolution and transitions from atlantic to stax without this dynamic duo in the 60's. They performed live just like their recordings. Hard to believe that off stage they were not the best of friends. This is possibly what them geniuses on stage!!.

5.0 out of 5 stars never too much of Sam & Dave, 7 Oct 2009

The respected writer & critic Dave Marsh once wrote that there was 'no such thing as too many Sam & Dave records. This cd proves that. It has all the hits & some of the other songs that may be familiar from cover versions by acts as various as ZZ Top, Billy Joel and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, although it does'nt include 'Broke Down Piece Of Man',which is a minor quibble. Definitely a 5 star collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best!, 7 Aug 2008
Its full of brilliant music and excellent lyrics. A soul classic - some say that old school soul is
much better than modern day soul, who knows maybe thats true. Cettainly alot of modern soul sounds banal, but theres
plenty of modern soul thats wrth listening to, take Duffy for instance.
