I was looking for something to replace my large plastic shell snowshoes which while great on tracks were not really large enough for deep powder snow in the French Alps. The price was very competitive so I expected something okay rather than high quality. No need to worry though these snowshoes are excellent. I tested them in Tignes in the French Alps by hiking up the unopened powder laden early season pistes and snowboarding back down.
The large volume, I got the largest size so they are very big for my UK size 6 feet but they fit no problem, makes trekking up steep pistes very straightforward and the weight spreads out across the snow and stops you sinking in too far. They are very light and for the ride back down I strapped them to my backpack and forgot they were there.

The bindings work really well, although initially looked a bit flimsy. Once I'd adjusted the heel strap, I no longer had to touch it again. It takes seconds to clip in and the straps stay in place. I used walking snow boots and snowboard boots.

I've only used them on deep fresh powder snow at very cold temps (-10C) so I can't comment on how they would perform on packed snow or icy slopes but the steel serrated crampons are pretty sharp. For me though they have performed far better then expected and I'll be using them to walk the dog, hike lines and anything else I can think of in the deep stuff. Now just have to get some better collapsible poles.

I bought a pair each for me and my wife and set off for Seefeld. We had 3ft of powdery snow fall over the week and the snowshoes were superb. They are a lot lighter than some we looked at, 68cm weighing in at less than 1800g per pair,58cm even lighter. They were quick and very easy to put on and take off. Grip was excellent and we felt confident at all times. The price is so reasonable I was worried about durability but they show no damage or stress after a week of use.
This was our first snowshoeing experience so we are no experts but we had no problems using these shoes.

I bought these for off piste snowboarding to avoid the pain of walking out across deep snow when you've taken a wrong turn off piste. Also to make it quicker and less tiring to access the best off piste areas.
I am 77kg and bought the largest size (clearly heavier in full snowboarding gear and carrying the board).
The shoes are slightly bulky when strapped to my pack and do make getting on lifts tricky. I opted for putting the pack on my lap. I think that with the smaller shoe I would have been ok because it's the length that is the issue.
The shoes are lovely and light. I am slightly concerned about how robust they are going to prove to be but so far no problems.
They are really quick to attach so, so long as your bindings are not too awkward to attach after your boots get snowy (some step in bindings can be and flows can be a bit annoying), I'll attach them even just to walk 5m in deep snow. It's a wonderful feeling floating on top rather than slogging through knee-deep or deeper snow and far less effort.
I am really impressed with this product and will buy the next size down too and try that.

These were delivered well within the expected window and very well packaged and protected. The actual product remains to be tested on snow later this winter but they appear very solidly made and strong, they are very very similiar to items which retail for twice the price which I have viewed elsewhere both in the UK and in the Alps.

Bought 3 pairs of these in 2 sizes for snowshoe walking in Switzerland. Thought they were a reasonable price compared to what they would cost out there. They looked quite good on the picture and came with a handy bag too. We walked for about 2 1/2 hours in them. It was quite difficult to make them fit snugly onto our walking boots. The straps are very stiff and plasticky. It didn't take very long for hard snowballs to keep collecting underneath where the metal teeth are and it was difficult to keep knocking them off. On the way down the teeth were so iced up they didn't grip well anymore and we kept sliding sideways, which could be quite dangerous. Also because the straps are so hard they ruined my sons walking boots completely and all of ours have marks on too. We also bought a pair of the Atlas mens snowshoes from amazon, they are better and have much softer and smaller straps, so don't ruin your shoes!

Just returned from a week in the Dolomites where the heaviest snowfalls have been recorded since 1921. I have been hiring snow shoes for the past 12 years but decided to purchase my own this year. Given the great amount of snow, snow shoes were needed at much lower levels than had been the case previously and my Black Canyon purchase was well timed. I found them very good indeed. Very light to carry initially and really easy to put on and take off. They were excellent on steep downhill slopes as well as were ice had formed in some areas exposed to high winds. The back heel straps were perhaps a bit fiddly to get right but the key here was to fit them at home before leaving the UK and they remained as adjusted throughout some tough days. They were a present to myself for my 73rd birthday which I enjoyed whilst wandering through the magnificent Dolomites!

I bought these so I could hike with my snowboard and they have been perfect. They fit my snowboard boots and are easy to adjust so I can hike up to wherever I want then just switch over to my board and strap them to my pack. If you just want snow shoes to do serious hiking these may not be hardy enough, but for hiking and boarding they are perfect.

good equipment because lighter than the previous one which I used, is a matter of underdeveloped heel strap constantly falls, this causes the need to stop and correct him just a nightmare ,affordable price compared with others, the strength of this equipment? I hope that a few seasons

Excellent for the price and they give enough floatation to cross deep snow when carrying a heavy pack, but there's no way of restricting the amount of heel lift which means the tail edge can catch on things, and it digs in really badly it you try stepping backwards.

great purchase, arrived just in time to take advantage of heavy snow fall. hours of fun. Easy to attach boots. I'm only 5ft and size 36 shoe but these fitted fine. Larger version would probably be too big.
