5.0 out of 5 stars toilet plunger
Having tried to remove a toilet blockage unsuccessfully with a sink plunger (the rubber cup eventually split),I bought a proper toilet plunger. Success! The plunger was much more powerful and cleared the blockage almost immediately. This brings to mind the old adage...If you want a job done properly, use the correct equipment!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed......
This plunger will work for small blockages but it is not powerful enough for anything bigger.

As it uses the water in the toilet to unblock it the inside of the plunger gets's disgusting and you will want to flush to use the cleaner water which can lead to an overflow situation when it isn't effective!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality plunging, 22 Jan 2011
This review is from: Monument MONMP1600 MP1600 Toilet Plunger (DIY & Tools)
If plunging is what you're into - then look no further. This is no small cup effort, a decent plung is what you'll get and should do the jobby for you! It's hard to get excited about this type of thing - but the quality of this item makes it worth the investment.

Very well designed tool. The concertina bellows style means that the plunger shifts a great deal of water, which is exactly what you need for clearing a wide bore pipe like a toilet waste outlet. I had tried several other options to clear the toilet, but all had failed. This tool cleared the blockage with about five pushes. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Toilet Plunger, 4 Aug 2011

It's the only plunger that actually unblocked the toilet! We have a problem with one of our toilets continually blocking, a quick plunge with this and it clears every time. I totally recommend.

The Plunger was brought into action almost immediately it was delivered. Suffice to say that it worked perfectly and that the blockage was cleared straight away. Therefore it did exactly what it said it would do on the packing!!! Excellent.

This cleared a blocked toilet when nothing else worked. It's very simple to use. You may need to flush once it's in situ to get a decent head of water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toilet plunger ever - Monument Toilet Plunger MP1600, 13 Feb 2012

This review is from: Monument MONMP1600 MP1600 Toilet Plunger (DIY & Tools)
Suffered several partial blockages on one of our toilet because of an offset coupler used to align horizontal waste pipe to toilet spigot.
In the past have always needed to remove toilet pan from wall spigot,; remove waste build up, then replace. I have tried a large rubber plunger in the past to clear blockage without success. With the very strange shaped Monument MP1600 plunger, however, it was cleared with just two plunges. Unlike a normal plunger, which requires an air tight seal around the bowl, this item forces a large quantity of water at high pressure down the pipe. It has a small nozzle with bellows above increasing in diameter. A long handle allows these bellows to be compressed with great force. There are no instructions so I recommend the following method, remembering it is water flow that clears the blockage, not air. Insert the small end into the toilet bowl as far as possible, and then top up the bowl with water from a bucket if it is below normal level. Gently push on the handle to compress the bellows, forcing out the air inside. Slowly pull upwards to fill them with water from the bowl. Flush the toilet and whilst flushing pump vigorously on the bellows, expelling and refilling them with water. A large volume of water at high velocity is thus forced around the bend. Repeat as required, but mine was cleared after one operation as detailed previously. It really does work very well! As they say, get a tool designed for the job and then it is easy. I gather from their website that 'Monument' has been in this business for over 40 years, and whilst made of soft plastic, this tool is of high quality and marked as made in the USA.

this product worked a treat in unblocking a toilet after having already tried a old fashioned plunger and a couple of liquid drain unblockers

Hi all

Well, I never know if these reviews come from manufacturers etc, but in this case I had a blocked loo at home, blocked thankfully with just paper. I umped and erred about cheaper plungers for a few moments, but went for this one. It arrived next day (you have to get Amazon Prime tis amazing!!!) and I followed another reviewer's advice to plunge with flowing water, so few plunges, then flushed loo and kept plunging... honestly unblocked in about 5 seconds. No plumber, no problems!!! Would recommend.
