This review is from: The Busch Quartet Play Beethoven Volume 4 (Audio CD)
There's nothing to say about the music or the performances - few things can compare.

But the sound quality is worth mentioning. It's outstanding. The years just melt away. There's little
left to remind the ear that these have been mastered from old 78s.

I've had various EMI issues of these recordings, and also the Pearl set. These four volumes are much
better - so much so that one wonders if they had access to better discs [I don't know].
Dutton has done us all a very big favour here.

Snap them all up while you can.

Although I may be wrong to assume they have been mastered from 78. I have since discovered there is
a school of thought which says that early vinyl pressings on Columbia are the best sounding source
for these recordings, counter-intuitive as this may seem. Search online for the details.
