4.0 out of 5 stars A muddled triumph
Having read all the negative reviews about 'Down In Albion' I decided with some trepidation to give the Babyshambles album a go anyway. I had really enjoyed their singles Killamangiro and ---- Forever and thought 'what the hell!'
Well i'm glad to report back that the album is no where near the disaster that other reviewers have suggested, in fact its a little gem and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Up and down ...
Its hard to review this first full relase from Babyshambles. There are some fantastic tracks which show what a great artist Pete Doherty could be. Stand out tracks F__ Forever, Albion and Killamanjiro are excellent and shopw what a song writer he is, but unfortunately there is also a lot of filler and for me the album just does not work as a whole. Still a great...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just a shambles, 15 Mar 2007

If you (like many others) have been unfortunate enough to be seduced by the supposed 'genius' of Pete Doherty, I beg you to reconsider. Remember that he has become famous for being a skagged-up, supermodel-dating, pasty loser. This does not mean he has talent. OK, the Libertines had some good tunes, but this album sounds exactly like what it is... the ramblings of a smack-head. Rubbish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Album of the Year, 17 Oct 2005
This review is from: Down in Albion (Audio CD)
"Down In Albion" hasn't even been released yet but it is already the best album of the year, possibly the decade. i am not exaggerating. i have heard pretty much all of these songs live or from sessions etc and i can safely say there are some fantastic songs on here, some of the best written in a long time. Its common knowledge that this album has been a long time coming, what with Peter's personal problems, but i GUARANTEE that it will be worth the wait.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont Believe The Hype, 24 Oct 2005
By A Customer
This review is from: Down in Albion (Audio CD)
5 Stars for an album you haven't heard ! Well I have heard it, and it's a load of rubbish. In my opinion one of the worst albums of 2005 and not a patch on Kaisers, Hard Fi, A-ha and Howard Jones.
PD unfortunately believes his own hype, and so do some of the reviewers on here ! Its the equivalent of a kiddies scrap book - a load of junk stuck together.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album could be great, 28 Jun 2005
This review is from: Down in Albion (Audio CD)
I've been listening to a lot of unrealesed Libertines, Pete Doherty and Babyshambles stuff over the past year and as song writers go, he's right up there. I've got several songs that are expected to be on the album and I can't wait for the studio-recorded versions.. This could be an album that goes down in history as one of the greats... (Rock 'n') Roll on October.
