This could well be the last release from this fine San Diego band... They will be sorely missed, but at least they're going out with a bang. There is a special version of this album which contains the DVD videos for all their singles..well worth the extra few quid..A quick review of some of the tracks, for people who dont know them....Vasoline the first track is a catching riff based song...9/10
down - a heavy track, but quality...not too many songs on this album from their last release shangri la dee da... the majority of songs on this are from the core and purple cds. there is a great rendition of plush acoustic from mtv unplugged. just listen to weilands voice... perfect.
one of the highlights is a track called 'lady picture show'. if you havent heard this before, you definitely will now.
In conclusion, this album will be good for fans who have all the cds by stp, but at least now you have them on 1 cd. if your new to stp then this will be perfect as you have the best songs by the band. although in reality when you listen to this, you will like it soo much that you will invariably go out and buy the other albums..
overall 9/10... which is a great score.. buy it

I was fortunate to get the chance to find this gem of a cd at my local library (it carries a wonderful selection of cd's). I was glancing through the cd selection and this greatest hits compilation of Stone Temple Pilots caught my attention. All in all I really enjoyed this cd and I felt that many of these songs showcases Scott Weiland's strong singing voice and the originality and creativity of him and his band. However I do agree with the other reviewer that the song "Unglued' would have been a good addition to the cd. If you enjoy many forms of rock music then this cd will be enjoyable. In my opinion the whole cd was great to listen to but the tracks that one will find themselves going back to are "Vasoline", "Wicked Garden", "Big Empty", "Plush", "Creep", "Interstate Love Song" and "Sex Type Thing". Any fan of 90's "alternative rock" would be happy to add this cd to their music selection.

History shows this compilation was not a final farewell from the band who went on to release the excellent 'self-titled' in 2010. However, for the STP curious, this collection is a comprehensive introduction to the band and their earlier work. The unplugged version of 'Plush' is an added bonus. The accompanying DVD of MTV videos and concert footage (if you can still find it) is a visual treat and which left this viewer (having missed STP first time around) wondering what they were thinking most of the time. It is nonetheless a fascinating insight into a band when arguably they were at the top of their game. Probably not an essential purchase for the die-hard STP fan (who will no doubt rather listen to the songs in the context of the albums from which they were taken) but certainly is for more casual listeners who believe the early 90s produced some of the finest guitar based rock music ever.

I bought this album because of Down and Sex Type Thing, but listening to this album has given me an appreciation of the Stone Temple Pilots I didn't expect to gain. Subtly threatening or ambiguous lyrics played to an upbeat and spirited tune. Music that sounds almost like pop with verses clearly written from a sinister perspective. I couldn't help but feel a demented grin spread across my lips as I listened to songs like Days of the Week and Sour Girl. Thank you for the experience Stone Temple Pilots, you got this casual listener's attention.

With Thank You, you can't go wrong. Here you have STP's greatest hits- all classics. STP may not have been the best band of the 1990s- but they sure had a thumping back catalogue of excellent songs.

Only disappointment is the lack of songs taken from Purple, by far their most creative moment. This album only has 3 of those tracks.

Thank You is only for the passing rock fan that doesn't want to invest in other STP records, but likes some of their well known hits. Fans will obviously have the other records.

Right, here goes. I haven't bought this CD as I have already downloaded the majority of the songs on this album already - however, this would have been a fantastic starting point for someone just getting interested in this band, as I was a month ago. I can't believe it took me so long and what I missed out on!

The bands songs are incredibly diverse (ignore the previous guys review); grunge, (hate the term) was only the beginning for STP, and they're the only ones to come through that era and develop into a real rock n roll band. If you have no idea how they sound, they start off sounding Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam (Wicked Garden/Plush), and come through a transition of psychedelic rock and Beatlesesque tunes (Sour Girl/Days of the Week).

Anyway, I hope the review, though brief, gives you an idea. You won't be disappointed with this album.

Finally it is here. The greatest hit album from STP.This album could have come out 5 years ago becouse back then they had enough hits for a greatest hit album!!!!.
All the best songs from all 5 albums are on this album but i would like to say that there could have been 5-6 extra songs from the other albums-
on this album but that`s ok!.
There are two extra songs on this album which makes it a must to have but it is possible to buy this cd with a 3rd extra unrelised song on it(IMPORT)...........on amazon.com and that will cost you 53 dollars.I think its only possible to buy it in the states.
expencive, but you never know!.
10/10

Great collection of songs. Would have given this 5 stars if it had included 'Crackerman' one if STP best known tracks.
