5.0 out of 5 stars A Band at the Top of Their Game,
After blowing every metalcore fan's mind with their previous album 'Killing With A Smile', Parkway Drive returned to create this wonderfully constructed piece of brutality. The songs follow a similar format to their previous effort but show more maturity and confidence after becoming such respected players in their scene.
This album picks up where the last one left off and shows that Parkway are certainly not a one album wonder. All the right elements are still here: the pummelling breakdowns, the precise blastbeats, the technical-yet-accessible riffs and vocalist Winston's guttural growls, all finished off with Adam Dutkiewicz's flawless production.
Upon listening to every song on this album, you can picture the thousands of happy fans that will lap these songs up when Parkway hit the live circuit. They are a band that keep all the valuable elements of the 'scene' and mix them up in such a way that, despite them not reinventing the wheel here, proves for an exciting listen.
If you are a fan bands like Bring Me The Horizon then give these a listen, they'll show you how it's done properly.

5.0 out of 5 stars My new favourite band!,
What can I say about Parkway drive, well let me asure you that they are firstly heavy as hell, they are classed as metalcore however they have a lot of deathcore traits aswell. The album is just as good, if not better than their previous album killing with a smile, if you liked that album then you are nailed on to like this one, its just more of the same which i think is a good thing. If you need a glimpse of what parkway drive sound like then listen to the song 'carrion' this is my favourite song on the album, what a great riff! Other excellent songs are Five Months and the single Boneyards.
If you like bands such as Darkest Hour, Malefice, As I lay Dying etc then get buying! Fans of Killswitch Engage/Atreyu etc beware this is a lot heavier than those bands with no 'clean' vocals and as I said does have a deathcore feel in places. If you do find yourself liking Parkway Drive may I also suggest checking out I Killed The Prom Queen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Horizons,
Horizons is an absolutely fantastic album from Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive. Opening with the beautiful building 'Begin,' straight into the balls out 'The Siren's Song,' the album grabs you right from the get go and never wavers or falters once from beginning to end. Parkway Drive are extremely consistent, extremely talented and have found a way to have a unique identity in a saturated market place. What they do is not groundbreaking but how well they do it is reason for celebration, if you have any interest in this genre then Parkway Drive are a band you should give serious consideration to.
Singer Winston McCall has a pretty great voice and attitude, he has an array of shouts and screams that range from mild shouting to full on gutteral Death vocals but he never brakes out into the full on shimmering radio choruses that put many fans off from this type of band.
If you like some of the advances in Metal in the last decade or so, but couldn't get past the big choruses then Parkway may be your perfect gateway band.
For everyone else, you'll know what to expect; musical hooks, catchy riffs, then heavy breakdowns, a lot of double kick drumming and guitar solos that are musical rather than blistering and jagged.
One area that sets Parkway apart is the guitars, which are often complicated and virtuosic enough during the main body of the song to sound like guitar solos, some of the things they come out with are just plain impressive.
The production from Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz is top notch, the man just has an ear for how this music should sound, much the same as Scott Burns had for early nineties Death Metal.
To summarise, Horizons is a fantastic Parkway Drive album and Parkway Drive are a fantastic band that you really ought to check out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fanatastic metal album,
Another amazing album from Parkway Drive to follow up their brilliant Killing with a Smile. Very inventive riffing, a good mixture of brutality and melody. The band gets put into the hardcore/metalcore genre but this album is recommended for fans of all metal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Metal,
A brilliant second album by Parkway Drive!
The breakdowns are simply amazing!
Best songs include 'The Siren's Song', 'Boneyards', 'Dead Man's Chest' and 'Carrion'.
All the songs are amazing.
This is not as good as their older album, 'Killing with a Smile' but it is still purely metal.
They have kept their distinct older sound and progressed it.
Pure metal i look forward to seeing them on tour.
