Morphy Richards Breadmaker,
By
This review is from: Morphy Richards 48267 Fastbake Breadmaker (Stainless Steel/White) (Kitchen & Home)
We soon got the hang of this breadmaker and have been turning out wonderful, light bread right from the start. Had not realised that the tin is long and thin (we slice the loaves horizontally now) so we end up with slightly smaller and more slices than our previous breadmakers - much better for the toaster and for sandwiches. The retractable paddle kept on collapsing as we filled the pan with ingredients but the breadchef seems to have got the hang of that as I have not heard any further mutterings. So, yes, we are delighted with our purchase.

Great Product, excellent instructions with perfect results everytime. It helps to oil the paddle first as it then comes out easily. The bread recipes are a bit sweet for my personal taste so now experimenting in reducing the amount with no disasters as yet! I also found 'low salt' works well. Love the fruit loaf recipe but my waist band is protesting!

I have had this breadmaker for just over a month now and have used it every other day. I haven't worked my way through the basic loaves yet so can't comment on its' results with added nuts and fruit etc. Each loaf I have tried so far has seemed better than the last one so I do that one for several loaves before my wife wants me to try something different. I have had no problems unless you call having to get the paddle out of the bottom of the loaf a problem but this is only a seconds work. They have all turned out as expected and, unlike store bought loaves, they don't go mouldy. If you do leave them long enough they dry out(they don't seem to go stale) and you can use them for croutons. The machine is everything it should be and as it was discounted by 50% when I bought it, good value for money.

Delighted with this breadmaker. Used basic recipe with slightly less sugar and less salt than recommended with excellent results. Easy to clean.

Problems with Gluten Free baking,

I bought this machine to make gluten free bread, having previously tried a Panasonic bread maker. The Morphy Richards is only able to make the smallest size loaf due to a problem with mixing. It struggles with the gluten free mixture. Even on the Light setting, the loaves come out very brown! It is neat in size and easy to use, but for Gluten Free baking the Panasonic is better, although quite a bit bigger and more expensive.I find the drop down paddle is cooked in the loaf and hard to remove, and tends to drop down all the time anyway.

This is a new item that we have, as yet, not made frequent use of. However its efforts to date have been extremely rewarding in that the bread produced was extremely tasty, even textured throughout and even coloured right across the crust. The machine appears to be very easy to operate and the instructions supplied have produced excellent results. I would highly recommend this to anybody.

Morphy Richards 48267 fastbake, I have followed the basic bread recipie, turned out well. Have experimented with bought bread mixes with mixed results, you have the be careful if you use too much they grow up into the lid when baking! Made fruit bread which was brilliant. Fruit loaf also turned out quite well. It is lovely to smell the fresh bread baking and is fantastic hot with butter on, the only problem being a family of four soon eats all your hard work!skippycass.

great bread,
This review is from: Morphy Richards 48267 Fastbake Breadmaker (Stainless Steel/White) (Kitchen & Home)
We've had this bread machine (our first) for about a month now, and had some good (and some not so good) loaves, as you'd expect from a breadmaker. Its a nice design, easy to use and compact. Seems to make good bread overall (if the recipe is followed). One problem is the mixing blade never seems to come out of the loaf during the baking process, so we have to remove it afterwards leaving a big hole in the bread. I guess this might be a common problem with bread makers, but as this is the only one we've owned I can't say more than that. Another feature which would be nice to have is to be able to turn off the beeping warnings that the bread is done. If we make bread overnight, the machine beeps at 4am or so to let you know the bread is halfway done, then again at 5am to let you know its done. Being a light sleeper, this has meant we can't make the bread overnight!

Disappointed,
This review is from: Morphy Richards 48267 Fastbake Breadmaker (Stainless Steel/White) (Kitchen & Home)
This Breadmaker dose all it saids but a little disapointed as it bakes thebread in the upright position, which means the loaf come out uneven with one end baked more then the other. |
