I bought this to replace my 'Bringing up Baby' vhs cassette. The sound was So much better and the picture too. I love this crackpot film - like the Marx Bros films in part - wild characters , absurd premise, dotty situations and a happy outcome! a great deal of excellent acting from all the cast, despite plenty of papier-mache sets. Hepburn seems startling brave in her handling of Baby, and is full of beans, beautiful, and well dressed.
'The Philadelphia Story' was also great fun in a fine print. Perhaps Grant brought out the best in Hepburn. But as is often the case James Stewart just steals the show with an effortless & hilarious performance!
The other two offerings were poor stuff despite my happy memories of them - Tracy looks old in both of them and the premise of both is weak and thin by todays view of women and men.
I love the idealism of all the films. Somethng that US society seems to have lost.
