Akwaba Beach is a classic.Every single track is a classic. That said..some of the tracks have been made into Bollywood tracks albeit in Hindustani. i once remember listening to Africa 2000 when my plane was landing in Seychelles. it was such an appropriate moment and setting.

Akwaba Beach is a classic.Every single track is a classic. That said..some of the tracks have been made into Bollywood tracks albeit in Hindustani. i once remember listening to Africa 2000 when my plane was landing in Seychelles. it was such an appropriate moment and setting.

Mory Kante gained prominence in the UK after appearing on the talkshow 'Wogan' back in 1988. They sung Yeke yeke which was a big hit in Europoe at the time. The song Tama Tama was redone Bollywood style for the Amitabh Bachcha starrer Hum and it was a highlight in the film.

Inch Allah is a very spiritual track very reminiscent of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khans quawwals. So many influences in a little album

5.0 out of 5 stars Africa - Music to regenerate the world, 6 Oct 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Akwaba Beach (Audio CD)
I have always loved african music and this classic by Mory is something that has been created with a different kind of energy that not even you can describe. What I have found with african music is that it relates directly with our inner love of the world around us and assists us to "stop the bullets" - Matrix and listen to what is really going on around.
