5.0 out of 5 stars What an album!!!!
This is truly an amazing album and i would encourage any rock lover to buy this album. I had previously only heard 'Kryptonite' and 'Loser' before I bought the album, but every single song has it's highlights. Songs such as 'Duck and Run' and 'Not Enough' have really cool guitars on them, and really rock! i don't really have a bad thing to say about any of the songs, but...

3.0 out of 5 stars I kid you not man, the drummer really sings.
If i was to grade this album 5 out of 5, i would cheat the prospective buyer although this album is good, not all the songs are unique. This comtempory album is a collaberation of rock influences like, alice in chains, early Goo Goo dolls music and George Formby (well maybe not the goo goo dolls). Outstanding track on this album will have to be, Be like that, Kryptonite...

This is truly an amazing album and i would encourage any rock lover to buy this album. I had previously only heard 'Kryptonite' and 'Loser' before I bought the album, but every single song has it's highlights. Songs such as 'Duck and Run' and 'Not Enough' have really cool guitars on them, and really rock! i don't really have a bad thing to say about any of the songs, but one flaw that i saw was that some songs were fairly similar, but that doesn't stop it from being a truly brilliant rock album. Hopefully this will be the first of many great albums by the band, and i really hope they come down to the UK. An album with both strong lyrics and guitars....a must for all rock lovers. Other songs I loved were 'Life of my own' and 'Down Poison'. A couple of mellower tunes in 'Loser' and 'Be like that', but the rest were pure ROCK 'N ROLL!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A BAND!!, 3 May 2005

This review is from: The Better Life (Audio CD)
I bought this album whilst living in the states. Kryptonite had become a bit of a theme tune for the monotony of the job i was doing, i thought that i may go crazy, at least i had something to sing along too!! I was HOOKED!! the more i heard the more i liked.
Most of the people in england will recognise 'Be like that' from American pie 2, it is a great ballad, full of feeling.
The rest of the album is more rock and i love to play it really loud when driving, it makes me feel GREAT!!
I would recommend this to anyone that likes, creed, nickleback, hoobastank, etc. There are some great tunes on this album and you should not miss it :D

This is an excellent album and i have not stopped listening to it since i bought it, ive even managed to get all my friends hooked on them too. I would definately recomend this album to anyone who basically likes rock. There sound is something like creed, but also totally different to them, they are unique with catchy songs like kryptonite and loser they cant go wrong. Buy it NOW!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant album, hard rock meets grunge and alternative rock, 9 Sep 2001
This review is from: The Better Life (Audio CD)
I bought this album on the view that it was just a slightly softer version of Creed (My favorite) and in part I would say im right, but after hearing the album in its entirety, its not softer, it instead has more in common with hard rock than Creed, like the good old bands (Deep Purple and such, the only band I can think of) with sum really excellent guitar solo's. Sum of the trax R very happy soundin, sum very depressive, a must have if U like grunge, alternative rock or hard rock.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this and you will not be disappointed, 13 Jun 2001
i bought this album a year ago when i was in America and i always feel it was the best one i bought over there which i also bought Creed and Fuel 238.This album has something for all the family.Their first release Kryptonite is amazing in its lyrical content and its guitar riffs.Loser is their followup and that concentrates more on teh softer side. The rest of this album compiles of stronger, and weaker rock with an added bonus of the need to not swear continuosly. This album makes a great contribution to anyone's collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars a masterpiece, a brilliant album, buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, 24 Nov 2000

The first time i heard this? well, i saw it on somebodies hotlist on napster when downloading machine head tracks. The first track i heard was "better life" this caught my attention and so i decided to download another. this time i got kryptonite which too is an awsome track. this band rock! i like bands such as koRn, machine head, Rage Against The Machine and others but this band are so good it's unreal, and nothing like koRn. there is however some vague similarities between these and machine head although they are few and far between. In short 3 doors down are a talented hard hitting rock group with excellent lyrics and a style all of their own. no matter how many times i listen to this album i still think that it rocks!! the only thing we need to ask is why the fuck havent these guys made it big yet!!!!!???!!!??!?!?!?!?

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm passing away....onto THE BETTER LIFE!, 7 Oct 2000
This review is from: The Better Life (Audio CD)
Good God! There aren't many words that can describe this album, but brilliant is on of them! I heard the songs Kryptonite and Loser when I took a 3 week holiday to Seattle this summer. "The Better Life" was just one of the 16 albums I brought whilst I was in seattle, and It was definitly worth it! Id recommend this album to any fan of rock (bands lke the Chili Peppers, LIVE, Eve 6 and even Matchbox 20!)
